I have some sad news. I wasn't going to post however I feel many of you were invested in her story. I have taken some time on how to write this and what I think is best for all. Kalea is looking for a home currently or a place to go. Everything was going great with her until it didn't. Sunday she was in the house on leash learning some calming behaviors and only Rylee loose. Unfortunately she displayed behavior during that time that makes her no longer a good candidate to be in my house. She will do fantastic in a only dog household. I struggle to even say that as she proved she can play with my dogs as well as my parents outdoors. She is the sweetest thing to people and wants so badly to learn and have her person. My dogs will always come first therefore I am looking at options for Kalea. This is a tough situation and definitely not as I would have hoped it would have gone. If you or someone you know wants a very sweet dog and has no other dogs let me know. If she ends up going to a local person and not a facility I want to work out a lesson plan that she will come with.

Even in Kauai I couldn't stay away from hanging out with a dog. I borrowed Barbie from the shelter and took her on a full day that included hiking, the beach and some socializing at a dog friendly lunch spot. She was a great little girl and if her adoption fee wasn't so much I would have brought her home to train and then find her the most perfect family.

I posted a while back about getting a shelter dog to train and help them find the best family. I really wanted to do this with Barbie and get her to the states. I highly recommend this field trip program if you ever visit Kauai! I am back in WA now and ready to get started working with the board and train dogs on the schedule!
