National Prescription Drug Take Back Day!!

The DEA will hold its 26th Take Back Day from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at locations nationwide.

The community can drop off unused and unwanted medications and prevent drug misuse before it starts.

There was recently a canine influenza outbreak in Delaware. We do not know of any outbreaks in New York or any closer to us at this time, but we know that this respiratory disease can spread quickly so we wanted to just promote awareness. Symptoms include coughing, sneezing, eye/ nasal discharge, lethargy and fever; and is often more severe that typical kennel cough. Dogs that are in large dog-population environments would be the highest at risk (e.g. doggy day care, boarding, agility, dog shows), so it may be worthwhile to consider the canine influenza vaccine for your pet if they take part in those activities. Potentially if you plan to foster/rescue a new pup as well!
