We will not be accepting appointments on November 2nd - 3rd, 2022. We will be open for medication and food pick-ups. There will be staff available to answer questions about your pet’s medical needs. Additionally, on Thursday, November 3rd, we will be closing early. Our hours will be 8 am- 3 pm.

We had an excellent veterinary technician week here at AHC! Our staff got to enjoy pastries & coffee, sandwiches, a potluck, Chinese food, and what seemed like endless snacks and desserts! We really felt the love. We also had some "friendly" competitions among the staff to win prizes- cup pong, BINGO, a scavenger hunt, and started our pumpkin decorating!

As some of you know, we lost our beloved hospital cat, Frank, back in August. He passed peacefully surrounded by his AHC family. Frank served as our official greeter for 16 years! His memory will always live on here, but we will miss him dearly. If you would like to honor Frank, please consider making a donation to Pope Memorial Humane Society in Dover.

A technician at AHC is fostering Daisy. A 7 month old walker hound. She is in search of her forever home! 😍 There is a vet screening prior to placing her in a home. Details to follow.

'She is the absolute sweetest. She is surprisingly quiet compared to our hound. We are working on kennel training and I would recommend continuing because she is very playful. She is thriving on a training collar so she can exercise off leash. She is fantastic with other dogs and children. She is current on vaccines, flea/tick prevention, and heartworm prevention but will need to be spayed. Our family LOVES her but four dogs is too much long term. We would absolutely continue to board her in the future when her owner needs ❤️

**I will not consider anyone who lives in an apartment or condo. This breed is not meant for that kind of lifestyle. She needs routine daily exercise and someone who understands hounds.**'

While heartworm prevention seems expensive, you get a lot more value for your dollar than you realize.🤑 We are now offering two types of heartworm prevention! We carry Tri-Heart tablets that can be given monthly like a treat or a ProHeart injection that will protect your pet for the entire year! 💓

It's that time of year! 🌷

Spring is here and that means a high volume for wellness visits. Please be aware that for routine vaccine appointments, we are currently booking 2-3 weeks out. Please try and keep this in mind and call us in advance to schedule when receiving your pet's reminders! Thank you for your understanding and patience with our staff. ❤️

Meet Hayley! 😁 You may have seen her helping around the office already as our kennel technician or intern. She will be graduating as a Certified Veterinary Technician in May and will begin working as a full-time nurse! We are so proud of Hayley and her accomplishments and are excited for her growth at AHC 💙
