Hello to my Rochester area friends. As a dog grooming shop owner I often get asked about pet boarding facilities and/or pet sitters who are well recommended. I reside on the east side of ROC and am really not familiar with these services offered on the west side.

With the holidays approaching this question will be asked more often.

If any of you have places or people that you use for your pet boarding or sitting needs will you please let me know who you recommend? I would love to be able to help my clients who need pet sitters or boarding places during the holiday season.

Thanks!!!

Hello evryone. I'm sure some of my clients have driven past my shop and noticed that my shop is no longer there. Even my sign is down.

DON'T PANIC. 😁

I did NOT stop grooming, I now just do it at a different location not far from my previous shop. I had to move away from that spot, it ended up being a bad place for me.

If you are a current client, you are welcome to contact me by phone to get new address. I will also plan to call everyone confirming your appointment and giving my new address.

I appreciate all of you and look forward to seeing you and your pup(s) again soon!!!

I love my buddy Alfie. He is such a pleasure to groom.

Hi my friends. I am going to ask you all to share this post with everyone you know.

With Easter upon us, many of us will be eating a ham dinner. As yummy as ham is, it is quite high in sodium. Sodium is NOT good for pups and if you feel need to feed your dog ham, TRY TO AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!! I have had a clients pup pass shortly after eating ham.

If you love your dog, as we do ours, PLEASE don't feed your pup ham. Keep him or her safe, just offer pup treats!! Your pup will be happier not sick.

To my dog owner friends...if you are Thanksgiving ham eaters...DO NOT FEED TO DOGS!! THE SODIUM CONTENT CAN KILL YOUR DOG.

Barkley the cutie. I just love grooming this pup!!

I just want to say that I have the BEST clients in the world! Had to have my hand surgery last week (was trying to wait until September). Because of this I had to move over 20 appointments. I just have to say THANK YOU to everyone I had to move. Thanks for your understanding and for your patience and kindness!!! Covid really made my schedule crazy, but hand surgery made it MORE crazy. I appreciate all of you and look forward to seeing you all in the near future!

On the mend.

Hello everyone. This is an update to my previous post. I am no longer accepting NEW clients due to a major overload in my schedule. I am currently booking into July. Hello everyone! I hope this finds all of you happy, healthy, and staying INSIDE. I am writing to inform you all that, during this crazy time, I continue to offer my grooming services just as before. Our pups also need to remain healthy and happy!

As you are aware, "social distancing" has been mandated by our government officials. With this, I feel the need to change the way I do things at my shop, at least until all of this settles (hopefully sooner than later). I would like to decrease the amount of traffic that comes in and out of my shop so as to keep EVERYONE safe. Please see the changes below:

FIRST AND FOREMOST, MY SHOP IS SANITIZED AFTER EACH PERSON (DOOR HANDLE, COUNTER, CARD READER, FLOOR, ETC.)

1. My door will remain locked AT ALL TIMES so as to decrease the free foot traffic in and out of the shop. I always watch for any visitors from the grooming room.

2. For now, I will no longer accept "Walk-in" nail trims. If you need to have your dogs nails cut, please contact me via phone call or text so we can get you scheduled. Even same day would/could work, I just can't have people just walking in without notice.

3. If you have a scheduled appointment, I am asking that we transition the dogs AT THE DOOR. If there are special instructions please either call or text. I am happy to do whatever you need or want. Less time inside is best.

4. Payments can be made inside of shop if paying by card but Cash or check at this time is best because it is quick. I also accept VENMO, so if any of you are Venmo account holders payments can be made that way without even entering the shop. My account is: -Taylor-92 (you will see a profile picture of a puppy).

I APPRECIATE ALL of you and your business. I appreciate your friendships as well. THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING SUCH GREAT CLIENTS.

Thanks for understanding, and for helping in 'FLATTENING THE CURVE'

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Hey to my Rochester friends...if you are one who is getting out to hike in the woods during this time of distancing, and you have a dog that you take with you, remember to CHECK FOR TICKS after walk. We found 6 on Quincy over the last 3 days (we've gone out 3 days in a row). It's cold out but not cold enough to keep the ticks away!

03/22/2020

To my clients and future clients... I will remain open at my shop to accommodate the pups in need of a grooming. There will be measures taken to keep everyone safe and healthy.

I will allow only one person in shop at a time, and that time will be quick and to the point.

I will be cleaning counters, door handles, etc. in between client visits for everyones safety. I ask that if you are not feeling well, PLEASE stay home.

The coming week I have openings, as I did not have my surgery due to virus. If you do not have an appointment scheduled yet, and need one, please contact me via text at 585.727.5662. The week of 30th is already fully booked, through the next couple.

Thanks!
Cheryl

My Grooming Roots

I started grooming in the late 1980’s, working at Tails’A Wag’n in Chula Vista, Ca, while being trained by the BEST groomers I know, Heather Miles Luttge, and Toni Sheltren. While training and working as a groomer, I was also attending school to become a certified Veterinary Technician, which I completed in 1990.

I moved to Rochester not long after that where I worked in different animal hospitals in the Rochester area, including Pittsford Animal Hospital and Monroe Veterinary Emergency Services. I then moved into animal care at the University of Rochester where I worked for a little over 5 years, until my kids were born, at which time I worked from home as a medical transcriber (which I STILL do part time), and still groomed dogs on the side for friends and family. I decided, after a period of time, that I preferred to work on my own, to be my own boss, and to continue working with pets. Here I am. I could not be happier with my choice.

I am here to care for YOUR pet as if it were my own!
