Put in a lava walk for the dogs with help from the garden gurls. What it is, a path with large rocks dug into the ground with there tops just exposed. I put some pine straw on top to give a little extra texture and something different for the dogs to explore with. Plus it is great foraging material. As they r walking on it their footing goes on the rocks to help them gain balance from their core. It's great for exercising. I throw treats over it so they move slowly. I don't want them running over it cause that could hurt them. Seems to be a big hit!

Does your dog need to learn to overcome fears and build confidence? This group class teaches you 4 types of enrichment activities. You and your dog will learn scent work, free work, movement puzzles, and busy boxes. This is a must for dogs that have anxiety. Classes are 1 hour long, and limit at 4 dogs per class. Please bring high-value treats, (boiled chicken or cold cuts) moderate-value treats, (Mozzarella string cheese or moist dog treats), and some of their regular dry dog food. Please DON'T feed them dinner before they come to class.

Four Mondays starting June 3rd at 7:00 pm- $180.

New to Camp Cloe!!! Please welcome
Christina Nichols!!!!

She has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for 32 years. She recently retired and is now utilizing her skills and knowledge by moving to her dream job of pet sitting and doggy daycare. She graduated from Veterinary Technician school at Becker College in Mass. In 1990. she started working at East Ridge Animal Hospital for 2 years after college then transferred to Hilton Animal Hospital and remained there for 30 years. There she specialized in reproduction, Trans-cervical Insemination, neonate care, and dentistry. Now continuing her education and going into animal behavior here at Camp Cloe. She has been pet-sitting and fostering for over 20 years. She says "Caring for pets is not just what I do, it's who I am".

She is married with 2 amazing daughters. They are grown now and love to spend time with them. She also has 4 dogs and 6 cats of her own. She loves going on trips and hanging out with friends and family as often as she can. She enjoys cooking fun and different meals as well. And of course, loves to relax with a glass of wine by a fire or on the beach.

In the last few days, I have had multiple calls about puppies acting differently since they started to go to daycare. I had some not wanting to go in the car, and others just acting quieter at home, not as playful. Some of these COVID pups are not suited for all daycares. Make sure you ask your daycare if they get naps and if they do sleep during daycare. Dogs need 10 to 12 hours of sleep at night and 7 hours during the day. That is for all stages of life. Too much stimulation for too long can cause a lot of anxiety in these dogs and outrageous behaviors. Whether it is excitement or anxiety they need cool-down periods so it doesn't escalate. Camp Cloe Daycare is for dogs that have a hard time calming down. There are nap times when I lay down with the dogs and help them feel comfortable enough to sleep. For more tips on how to help your dog feel safe reach out and we can put a plan in place to help them feel safe!
