In honor of National PTSD Awareness Day, we want to highlight the incredible work of therapy dogs and the difference they can make in people's lives. At Central Bark, we have our very own Petunia, or “Tuni,” an American Bully mix who was rescued by Central Bark Administration Manager, Lisa Finke. Petunia is a prime example of the importance of rescue dog advocacy and non-breed-discrimination policies. Let's show Petunia and all therapy dogs some love!

Our precious Sami was picked up today at the kennel by her new foster family, thank God 💜🙏 We will keep you posted as to how she is doing. This kind family is just what Sami needs most right now 🙏

SAD UPDATE:

Precious Sami is going to the kennel Wednesday morning. She has been a wreck due to all of the changes on a weekly basis. If there is anyone who can offer Sami a home for the summer, a place to decompress & to show her some much deserved compassion & kindness, it would be wonderful! Sami will do best with someone who works from home or is retired & is able to bring her outside on a regular basis throughout the day. PLEASE email us asap at [email protected] if you can help her. This poor girl has been through enough 🙏

Sami loses her foster family on Monday, June 24th. She is such a sweet girl: affectionate, kind, & loving 💜 She is a hoot in the kiddie pool :) All Sami wants to do is love you, hang out on the couch, & snuggle with you. She truly is a love 💜 Just look at those sweet eyes.

We do not want Sami to go to the kennel on Monday! She will have anxiety in a kennel & will require medication to keep her calm. PLEASE don't let that happen to her 🙏

Puppy Preschool Starting Monday June 3rd, 6:30pm-7:30pm
In this class, we’ll help you and your puppy start your lives together with a solid foundation. With a focus on positive socialization, comfort conditioning, and confidence building, you’ll practice all the skills needed to support your puppy on their journey to the next stage of development!
*This class is for puppies between 8-16 weeks of age.
*Vaccinations required (DHPP and Bordetella).

Basic Life Skills Starting Saturday June 1, 11:30am-12:30pm
OR Basic Life Skills Starting Monday June 3, 6:30pm-7:30pm
Grow your hands-on training and management skills with your dog, no matter their age! You’ll work on developing strong foundations for important life skills like recall, loose-leash walking, stationary behaviors, and relaxation around distractions.
*This class is for dogs of all ages.
*Vaccinations required (DHPP, Rabies (depending on age), and Bordetella).
*This class is not suitable for dogs who are reactive to other dogs or people.

Intermediate Life Skills Starting Tuesday June 4th, 6:30pm-7:30pm
Continue developing all the important life skills that you laid the foundations for in the Basic Life Skills class. You’ll start to combine your skills to mimic real-life scenarios, with more training challenges in class and at home!
Prerequisite class: Basic Life Skills

*Vaccinations required (DHPP, Rabies (depending on age), and Bordetella).

Advanced Life Skills Starting Tuesday June 4th, 7:30pm-8:30pm
Apply and refine the skills that you have been working so diligently to develop. Each week of this class will place you in a simulated, real life environment where you and your dog will be coached through successful use further development of the skills you have been introduced to in prior class levels. Beyond the basics, this course will help prepare you and your dog for your future adventures.
Prerequisite class: Intermediate Life Skills
*This class is for dogs of all ages.
*Vaccinations required (DHPP, Rabies (depending on age), and Bordetella).
