Meet Sam!
This handsome young boy came to us through a valued rescue partner when he was found as a stray and never claimed. We do not know for sure what he is mixed with, but he may have some lab and/or collie mixed in. He is just over 60 pounds and is ready to find his forever home!

Sam is full of fun and energy. He has been settling in well and learning the routine here very quickly. He does not seem to have been leash trained so he is working on that with the volunteers and staff. He really enjoys being out in the fenced yard running, playing, and getting attention.

Sam may do well with a confident canine companion in his home to show him the ropes of life and to offer some much needed play time! If you think Sam could be a good match for you, apply online today!

Reintroducing Boris, as he’s been here for 2 1/2 months and not having much success in finding a home, but is entertaining all of us along the way.  He’s had friends in the yard that he plays with, but Claire went home and now he’s playing with Emma the Husky, who’s also available on our website..he’s got a lot of energy to burn. One can’t help but fall deep into that blue eye, it’s mesmerizing. 
He came to PCHS from an impound in Faribault when he popped up as a stray and was never claimed. While we do not know much about his past, what we do know is this guy is full of life and energy and can't wait to bond with a best buddy/ buddies in a forever home!

Boris is estimated to be around 2 to 3 years old and is on the medium side at around 50 some pounds. He loves people and enjoys going on walks, although he will need a little help learning to not pull. He would make a great running or hiking partner! The impound we got him from thought he may be a husky mix, but we really do not know for sure what he is mixed with. We just know that he is so cute!

Introducing Erik!
This adorable fella is estimated to be about 3 year old and is thought to be some sort of pointer type mix. He is on the medium-ish size and weighs right about 50 pounds. Erik came to us from another rescue in hopes that a change of scenery will help him find his new home!

Erik gives the best "hugs" and loves to jump up on people and wrap his legs around you. He definetly does not understand the concept of "4 on the floor", but, he is very food motivated and will quickly sit down in the hopes of getting a tasty snack! Erik has a funny and happy personality and would love to be back in a home of his own!

Meet Emma, the little lady with an unbreakable spirit!

Emma is a petite, 2.5 year old husky who has been bounced around her entire life. She was adopted through us about 1.5 years ago and now finds herself back here. Though life keeps knocking her around, Emma does not let this impact her happy-go-lucky personality!

Emma is a very typical husky in the sense she loves mischief and adventure. She would love a family that has time to take her with them on walks, runs, or hikes. She would also benefit from a secure, tall, fenced in back yard as she can be a bit of an escape artist. She is house trained and gets very in to her routine. As long as her potty routine is kept, she rarely has any accidents. She is also kennel trained and knows quite a few basic commands.

Emma does well with most dogs, but she can butt heads a bit with other dominant female dogs. A canine companion that is a male or very submissive female would be better for her. She cannot live in a home with cats as she has a very high prey drive. If you have problem pests in your yard, she is your girl!

Meet Sunny and Merlin!

These two French Bulldogs came to us as breeder releases when they were no longer needed. These two sweeties are ready to put their breeding days behind them and find their own forever home.

Sunny is a dark brindle female who is 4.5 years old. She was a little unsure when she first arrived here but she is settling in well and quickly learning that the staff are here to help her. Sunny is smaller than Merlin and only weighs 20 pounds. She has lived with other dogs her whole life and would likely do well with a canine companion in her new forever home.
Merlin is a merle male who is 8 years old. Moving into shelter life definitely stressed him out a bit, but he is quickly learning that the staff and volunteers are nice people who offer tasty treats and some much needed attention! Merlin is a stout boy weighing at about 23 pounds. He has lived with other dogs his whole life and would likely do well with a canine companion in his new forever home.

Sunny & Merlin would benefit from a home that is familiar with the French Bulldog breed or similar breed experience. French Bulldogs can be prone to certain health conditions such as allergies, dry eye, and dental disease. Her future adopter will need to ensure she receives routine vet care to keep her in tip top shape!

Meet Dixie, Vixie, and Olivia Lou!
These three female Corgi's made their way to PCHS when they were no longer needed by their breeder. These girls are ready to put the mothering life behind them and find their own forever homes! Dixie can be a little timid to start but she warms up very quickly. She tolerates being lifted/carried and she enjoys pets.

These three girls make their voices known and would certainly alert their new families to any potential threats (such as the dreaded mail man, the person walking across the street, or any other quick movement outside). Due to this, they may not be suited for apartment or Towne home living.

They have all lived with other dogs and would likely do well with another canine friend in their home. However, they would also be okay being in a single dog home. While Corgi's are super cute and fun, adopters should make sure they are familiar with the breed or do research before committing to one of these girls. Corgi's are a small herding breed and do well when they have a job to do!

Update on Lucy. She is doing sooooo well. We love her dearly. Adopted in Sept. 2024, went missing for one 26 hours in January 2025, due to her extreme anxiety. Since we found her, she has been working so hard, and is doing great!!

Meet Little Charlie.
This boy is new to PCHS, and understandably, quite nervous. He was found as a stray and had to be live trapped in order to be brought to safety! His coat was full of matting and debris so he had to be shaved completely. Now that he is clean and warm, he is ready to look for his forever home!

Little Charlie has a very quiet and reserved disposition. Once he warms up to you, he enjoy being pet and and receiving attention. He is thought to be mix between a shih tzu and miniature poodle. He does not shed so he will need regular grooming for the rest of his life. Young, rambunctious kids might be too much for him, he would prefer an adult only home or a home with older kids. He may also do well with a confident canine friend to help show him the ropes!

Meet miss Shayna!
This sweet girl was found on a property where she did not belong. She was very scared, cold and hungry. A kind Samaritan reached out on her behalf and we were able to get her to us here at PCHS.

Shayna spent several weeks getting some much needed TLC. She enjoys cuddling up on cozy beds, spending time with people, and having a tasty treat! Shayna is a large girl and is nearing 70 pounds. She is estimated to be a mixed breed girl and is thought to be around 3 years old. She would thrive in a home that has time to show her structure, consistency and unwavering love.
