Meet Honey Bee!
This girl is as sweet as she looks! Honey came to us from an impound when there were too many dogs and they needed somewhere to go. Honey is very emaciated and nervous upon arrival. She has been working hard gaining weight and being treated for some tick borne diseases.

Honey Bee appears like she has lived in a kennel or small space for most of her life as she tends to pace or "circle" when she is confined or when she is particularly nervous. However, with time and consistency, this behavior has been decreasing day by day. Honey's new family will have to continue providing high calorie food until she is at a more stable weight. She came in at 32 pounds and should likely be closer to 42-44 pounds.

Honey Bee is estimated to be about 5 years old and looks to be a lab mix of some sort. Honey Bee is looking for a home where her family can provide her with the time and patience she needs to decompress into a new home. Do you think that could be you? Apply online today!

Meet sweet Eve!
Eve came to PCHS from a valued rescue partner when she was found roaming as a stray with a small group of other dogs. She went through her stray hold and was then brought to us to look for a new home. She is a young girl, estimated to be around 1 and a half years old. She is thought to be some sort of cattle dog mix, but we really aren't quite sure.

Upon first arriving to rescue, Eve was on the timid side and didn't know if she trusted people. However, she very quickly learned that she loves getting attention from people and wants to be a velcro dog! Eve is not a very energetic dog so she would prefer a home where she can hang out with her people, go on leisurely walks, and spend time cuddling on a bed.

She does well with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion in her new home. Given her disposition, it is believed she could do well with cats as well. If Eve sounds like the perfect match for you, apply online today!

Meet the "O" puppies! This group of 7 pups (4 boys and 3 girls) are ready to start looking for their new homes!

These puppies came to us after being found in a container in a ditch a few weeks back. They were on the thin side and covered in ringworm. They also had some intestinal parasites that needed to be treated.

After some much needed dewormer, tasty food and antifungal medication, these pups are looking and feeling so much better! They are estimated to be almost 3 months old and they will be large dogs, likely over 70 pounds when fully grown! We do not know what kind they are, but they appear to be some sort of large lab mix.

Like all puppies, these guys would benefit from some basic training and obedience to help them be the best canine citizens they can be! They would do well with another canine friend to play with in their forever home, and would likely do well with an active family with or without kids. This handsome, inquisitive young man is Carter. Carter is estimated to be 4-5 months old and is an Aussie mix. He was found out on his own and never claimed. Carter is a smart dog and full of life. He is also rather affectionate and gives plenty of kisses! As a working breed, Carter would do well with formal training and plenty of physical and mental stimulation. He wouldn’t mind a canine sibling, either. Cats are unknown.

Meet sweet Chiquita!
This little lady is looking for a very special home where she will be loved on for the rest of her life. Chiquita came to PCHS from a valued, southern rescue partner when she was seized from her owner as part of a cruelty case. Chiquita then spent several months with the southern rescue getting healthy.

Chiquita was scared, shut down, and had some ongoing medical issues that had never been addressed. She has a bladder stone the size of a tangerine! Thankfully she was able to get that removed and get on some special food to prevent this from happening again. Chiquita's future owners will need to keep her on this prescription food for the rest of her life.

Chiquita can be nervous to start, but once she knows you, she just wants to cuddle up near her people. Since she is nervous to start, small and rambunctious children would likely be too much for her. She would prefer a quieter home where she can decompress at her own pace. If you think you have the perfect home for Chiquita, apply online today!

This lovely lady is Birdie!
Birdie came to PCHS from a valued, southern rescue partner when she was found as a stray and never claimed. She appears to have had several litters of puppies in her day, but other than that, he past is very unknown. What we do know is that she is ready to be spoiled in her real forever home.

Birdie has a pretty gentle disposition and walks fairly well on leash. She is estimated to be around 5 years old and is around 54 pounds. She would love a home that has plenty of soft places for her to curl up on and where she can receive some long over due attention. Birdie is really hoping that flying north for the winter will score her a forever family! Could that be you?

Introducing Bear!
This fluffy little guy came to PCHS from a valued, southern rescue partner. Bear is estimated to be around 10-11 months old and was found as a stray and never claimed. Some nice people brought him into rescue and once he was vetted, he made his way here for adoption! Bear was listed as some sort of "Shepherd mix", however we really do not know what he is mixed with. He is on the medium side and currently weighs under 40 pounds.

Bear can be a little shy to start, but he very quickly warms up and loves attention from people! He also has done well with other dogs and would love a canine companion in his new home! Given his disposition, it is believed he could do well with feline companions as well.

Meet Princess!
This gorgeous pure bred husky was transferred to PCHS from another area rescue due to some over crowding. Princess was originally surrendered after her owners no longer had a use for her. She was a good mama and raised her pups well, but once the pups were raised and gone, miss mama ended up in the shelter.

Princess has lived with other dogs and has done well. She also wouldn't mind being the only dog. She just isn't the fondest of kitties. She thinks they look a little too much like squirrels, so a cat free home is a must for this lady!

Princess has settled in very quickly here and really enjoys going for walks, playing in the yard, and getting to spend time with staff and volunteers. She is affectionate and would love a home where her owners can be dedicated to loving her for the rest of her life. Could that be you? Apply online today!
