The foundation was created when veterinarian Dr. Brownstein decided to shelter a young kitten given the name "Linus" who was rescued off the streets of New York City initially, then transported from a kill shelter ready to put the kitten to sleep. Linus was given her name due to the fact that she was found with nothing but a blanket. The kitten was transported from the kill shelter all the way to

The Henrietta Animal Hospital located in Rochester New York. There, Dr. Brownstein cared for the young kitten eventually accepting her into her very own household. Now, young Linus is a future candidate for a much needed liver operation which will hopefully save her life. The Linus Foundation is dedicated to animal adoption and rescue cases such as this.
