Hey, did you know that we have complimentary monthly garden workshops? No? 📲 Click the link in our bio to add yourself to our newsletter (and/or register for July!).

This past Saturday, the weather was gorgeous and a few of us learned all about composting, water retention, and infrastructure ideas for community gardens in Rochester.

I even harvested garlic scapes & oregano from this garden. Steph brought strawberries from our First Market Farm’s morning harvest and gave out needed supplies to community gardeners in attendance.

So, it’s so much more than just a workshop! Fun and tasty too! With a small gathering at each workshop, you get your own questions easily answered.

Thank you to friends new and old who came to our First Friday event! It was the first time that we have turned the garden into an open-air art gallery and it was our first fundraiser!

The garden tours by our Youth Team Leaders and the t-shirts were both a hit, and the craft table was busy all evening.

💜 From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all who donated, purchased merch, and signed up as a monthly donor.

Your support means we have wiggle room for unexpected expenses, snacks/gear for the youth, and we can continue the work of supporting urban community gardens in the City of Rochester. 🍓🌱🥔🍉🥦🥒🥕🍅🥬

🤩Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes for our First Friday at First Market, happing THIS FRIDAY (June 6th | 5:30-7:30) at our First Market Farm.

📍First Market Farm is located next to the on the corner of Pennsylvania and First Street (14605).

Swing by, bring some friends and enjoy the garden, filled with artwork from the Taproot Collective.

What a really beautiful midweek reset for Steph, Asimi and Delilah from a Nature Wellness Retreat yesterday.

🙏🏻🥰 Thanks to GRASA and Children’s Institute for hosting and Roc Eco Partners for leading us in fun and engaging time in nature! We really needed this as we head into our busy summer season.

A big thanks to Bishop Kearney for starting off our "spring" gardening season 😅 We got some pruning done and cleaned up the space despite the cold and the snow! Excited for spring!

Workshop Location Change:
The 3/29 Season Extension Workshop will now be held at First Market Farm, 20 1st Street from 10am-12pm due to the forecasted rain and cold. We’ll still be able to learn about how to get into the garden earlier and later despite the unpredictable Rochester weather! And we’re hoping the rain will break for enough time to do a pruning demonstration.
