What a Blast it was at Summer Time Splash Doggie Pageant! Thank you to all 30 participants! Your pups were beyond awesome! So adorable, my judges Kaitlyn, Jessica and Emily said they can’t do it next year because it was too hard!! I agree!!! Thank you!

Looking for a little fluffy kitten to add to your family? ❤️🐈‍⬛🐾 Meet Oregano! Oregano is the last of our spice litter. The litter was rescued from the outdoors and brought to Happy Tails shortly after. He is such a purring boy once he is given just a few minutes to warm up! He would do well with another kitten or cat to show him the ropes of being a feline. He is just three months old. He is still very active and would appreciate a playmate! He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $100. Please come visit this sweet boy any day from 8 AM - 12 PM. Apply to adopt Oregano on the Happy Tails website!

🍑Sweet Peaches found her girl! 🍑It was love at first sight! Her new human sister couldn’t wait to get her some new matching pajamas!!🥰I don’t think I have seen Peaches smile so big! 😁 They promised to send pics!!! Thank you for adopting! We have the most amazing adopters! 🥰

For the love of Buddy…. A story of a huge white bully and the Mom who fell in love and would not give up.
Buddy came to Happy Tails a rather beefy healthy boy, weighing in at 87 lbs he was all love ❤️, but needed some training on jumping up on his humans. Dylan began working with Buddy right before our kitten/puppy baby shower in May. He did great!
The day of the shower a beautiful sweet lady was talking about how she was looking to add another dog to their family and how she loved the bully breed. Her baby at home Drax was a bigger bully than Buddy.
Immediately Dylan said, let me introduce you to Buddy. It was love at first sight! Emily fell head over heels for Buddy! She set up a meet and greet with her dog! The process began!
It just so happened, the meet and greet was the same day as Emily’s Birthday, and to take Buddy home was her wish.
Well, Dylan met us, and it did not go well. It broke everyone’s heart.
Emily decided to become a weekly volunteer at Happy Tails and after she finished shelter jobs, she hung out with Buddy.
Then she worked with Dylan, learning proper dog walking, staying calm and in control and asked him to help work with her dog to see if they could try one more time to make Drax and Buddy family members.
The next day Dylan worked with Drax and Emily worked with Buddy. By the end of the day the 2 big boys were laying side by side unleashed in the gazebo. She was beyond excited, but wanted her husband to confirm the relationship.
Dad’s approval sealed the deal!
Wednesday Buddy was adopted! It was so precious! The family is complete! The work, the time, the patience the love all came together for the love of Buddy! And Emily too! 🥰
We love this family and story! We have amazing adopters that go above and beyond! 🫶🏻 Congratulations!,

Thank you everyone who shared and showed love and support toward our Sadie🤗 . Sadie went to her new home today. She has a rescue brother that she immediately bonded with. The 💕were in the air! Her new Mom is a Pastor and has trained several young rescues. She even trained dogs to do agility competition. Her approach to training is love, trust, patience and consistency. ❤️ Mom is looking forward to sharing Sadie’s progress with us! We are here to help her with anything she needs to! Thank you for loving her and giving her a chance!! ❤️!

Torres the “Tornado” is Home!🌪️After such a long stay at Animal Control and then months here, he gets a wonderful family and sister! He showed off his spins and bowed to his beautiful new sister!! ‼️Sadie was adopted! And is doing amazing in her new home!
Sadie was returned today!
She got to spend a week in a home.
Her adopters did not believe in kenneling.
We try so hard to educate adopters on the importance of using a kennel for safety and training.
They said it was cruel.
Sadie didn’t understand why she was left loose in a home and couldn’t play with fun things.
She is just a baby.
She is 13 months old!
She may have never been in a home before.
Last night she chewed a hole in the end of a couch.
This morning she was returned because she played while her owners slept.
They said she was so sweet and loving!
Today she will spend 24 hrs in a kennel.
Tomorrow she will spend her day in a kennel.
She doesn’t understand.
Our hearts break for her!

We love the growth our dogs are receiving with Dylan from DK9 Services LLC and his wife Kaitlyn. They have been so nurturing and helpful with hands on training and gaining the trust of each dog they work with! Their approach to training is first gaining the love and trust of a dog. Shelter dogs need that patience and respect.
Today they worked with our volunteer Emily so she can become a dog walker. Dylan will be having a class soon for people who want to walk the dogs! Stay tuned for a date!!!

🥹No interest in this perfect Gentleman???!!!!
Fletcher! This handsome yellow lab mix is stealing the hearts of everyone he meets! He is around 3 or 4, has manners and just smiles at everyone he meets. He got to work with our trainers today and got an A+ ! He has no reaction to the cats either and gets along in a group walk with males and female dogs! He is a great medium sized gentleman and is not a jumper! He is an amazing boy who deserves a home! 🐾 These pictures do not do his handsomeness justice! He is available for a meet and greet daily from 8-12 , 7 days a week! 🐕🤗

Daddy Romeo got a good deshedding and bath today to help him stay a bit more comfortable as we start his heartworm treatment and the temperatures get warmer. Then we “did a thing”….who knows what else is in Big Daddy’s future?????🥸😲🤫
