Due to the parking issues this event will be creating, we have decided to close on Monday June 10th... see you Tuesday!

***TRAFFIC ALERT AND ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE***

MONDAY, JUNE 10, 2024

The City of Rock Falls announces road and parking lot closures due to the anticipated 300 to 550 cars expected to show up for the Sick Summer’s Rock Falls Block Party. The parking lots and roads will be closed from 10 am until 9 pm.
Parking lots closed include:
Firehouse Museum parking lot
1st Street/2nd Avenue parking lot
Lower dam parking lot
McCormick Event Center parking lot
The Industrial parking lot
The private parking lot across from the RB&W District

Roads closed include:
- West 1st Street from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue; there will be
access to the businesses (100 W. 1st St) from 1st Ave.
- 2nd Avenue from West 2nd Street to West 1st Street
- East 2nd Street from Avenue A to Wood Avenue

From 4pm until approximately 7 pm, part of Avenue A from 3rd Avenue to East 2nd Street will be congested due to lineup for the burnout exhibition.

Spectators can park in the lot directly behind the Post office on 2nd Avenue, parking lot behind Folsom’s Bakery and Selmi’s Floral, parking on the north side of East 2nd Street, as well as side streets where lawfully permitted

As some of you may know, I Dawn, have been in Michigan caring for my parents for the last 6 weeks and will be here until July... the girls have been taking care of business for me during this time and have been doing a fantastic job. That being said, trying to schedule appointments thru Facebook is something that I normally do, so while I am out of town unable to do so, I would request that you please call to schedule at (815)716-8490. We are a very busy salon, and we are currently booking out a couple of weeks, so please be patient with us and understand we will get you scheduled as soon as possible... we would also like to remind everyone that grooming your dogs is how we make a living, and if you don't show up for your scheduled appointment, we don't make any money, so our policy is 3 no shows and we will no longer rebook your appointment without you coming in and prepaying... that way if you dont show up, it is your loss of money and no longer ours... you wouldn't go to work without getting paid and neither should we... we love and appreciate all of you, and understand that things happen sometimes, but one small dog missing 3 appointments is $120 of income lost, which could have been filled by other clients if a simple call to cancel or reschedule was made and several of you have multiple dogs. I am sorry to even have to make this post, but we added 3 different multi dog clients to the do not rebook list just this week for having at least 3 no shows, so we felt we needed to make a post... thanks for understanding and have a great weekend!

I (Dawn) had the pleasure of grooming this handsome boy Huxley today... he is 8 months old and this was his first grooming... he did great and his fur was amazing to work with... I just love how cute he turned out!!!!

I would first like to say we love our customers and feel so blessed to be able to work together doing something we love... that being said, Spring is our busiest time of year so please try to be patient with us and book early as we are booking appointments several weeks out... also we have had several no call no shows lately, so please consider that each time that happens the groomer loses out on money and with the price of gas reaching nearly $5.00 a gallon it is actually costing them money to come in... you wouldn't go to work if you weren't going to get paid so please consider this when scheduling.. if you can't make it please call at least a day in advance so we can fill those much in demand time slots... thank you!

Today I had the pleasure of grooming Sailor. He is a 10 month old Airdale. Sailor was very unsure about grooming and was scared of everything. By the end of his groom, he was so confident, and comfortably wagging his tail being a bouncy puppy. I am so proud of this boy! It truly is so rewarding watching the growth in some of these 'special case' dogs. It warms my heart.
