This Valentines Day, we focused our love and appreciation on Dr. Buckley, who will be retiring at the end of the month (Feb 28th). Dr. Buckley has been with Catawba since May of 1997. During that time, she worked on thousands of dogs and cats, mended wounds, and helped cultivate a caring environment for all of our furry friends.

Captain Jack is a sweet 6 year old male who was recently surrendered to our care after he lost an eye. He has a huge heart and loves cuddles and pets almost as much as he loves treats. This sweet girl was found this afternoon near Westerwood and Constitution. She is microchipped and is awaiting pickup from York County Animal Services. We were unable to reach the owner by the microchip registration info. If you recognize her, please call the office!

Help us welcome Dr. Meghan Barnes to the CAC family!
Dr. Barnes, a Louisiana native, has worked in the veterinary field for nearly a decade. She earned her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Louisiana State University on the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts in May 2020.
She will soon receive her certification in small animal acupuncture through the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. She is also a bit of a world traveler, having spent time at the Elephant Sanctuary in Chang Mai, Thailand, where she assisted with the rehabilitative care of injured and mistreated Asian Elephants.
She is enjoying her new chapter in South Carolina. In her spare time, Dr. Barnes loves to travel, hike, swim and spend time with her fiancé, Tyler, and her fur babies, Winkie and Mango.
