Updated information about Crossroads

-orginally due to health issues, Crossroads temporarily closed.

-I tried to fill leadership positions with no luck, so I donated the kennels to Tails of the South Rescue bc I couldnt justify having empty dog kennels knowing there were so many in need. We had hopes that we could open again once the health issues resolved. They have for the most part, but I can no longer physically take the heat. Heat will literally put me back on bed rest or in a wheelchair. Without full time hands on help, I simply cannot rescue dogs on the high volume scale I once was able to do. Because of this, and lack of help in all the areas it takes to successfully run a dog rescue, Crossroads is permanently closed.

-thankfully, we are able to close 100% debt free, including vet bills.

-all supplies have been donated to Mcminnville Animal Control as they came in over the past year.

-Crossroads saved the lives of over 300 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 ferrets in just a little over 2 yrs!!! That is something to be celebrated!!!! Thank you all for all the support because I truly couldn't have done it without you!!!

You amazing people, keep on doing what you do. Be the voice that never quiets!!!

October is Pitbull Awareness month intended to break the stigma about pitbulls. Pitbulls are ranked as one of the top breeds to be the most affectionate and least aggressive.

He loves playing in the water, going for car rides, and has good manners. He gets along with other dogs and ignores the cats! This sweet senior girl is still waiting for her forever family as she waits at Mcminnville Animal Control. She has been at the shelter far too long. She's such an amazing girl too. The dog runs have been donated to a new rescue in our area. Definitely a bittersweet moment as it truly broke my heart to see them go, but I know it's the best choice until my heath returns. The pens are being used again to save dogs. CSA isn't closing down. We are still helping to provide monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventions, heartworm tests, and other medical care to the dogs at Mcminnville Animal Control. We take in donations for them as well. A small group of volunteers are still taking photos, taking the dogs for outings, networking for adoption or rescue relocation, and screening adoption applications to continue helping these dogs get out of the shelter. Meet Hank, he is a lively 3 year old pointer (possibly mix). He loves to play with other dogs! He loves everyone he meets, and loves peanut butter lick mats and any treats that he can get his paws on! And he even shares with his doggie friends. He will do great in a home with at least one other dog, and somewhere he can run and play (fenced in yard, or farm, etc). Best of all he is already housebroken & likes walks/car rides! Hello friends. I wanted to jump on and just give a little explanation as to why there's not been much fb activity lately. I've been volunteering at the Mcminnville City Shelter the past handful of months still getting dogs moved out either by rescue relocation or by screened adoptions. However, I have started having some pretty significant health problems that are debilitating and I'm also not allowed to drive until we figure out what's going on. Saying that, I am wanting to reach out to ask for help. If anyone is interested in helping out with the rescue, that would be great! The biggest need for the rescue would be some the fundraising due to happen between Aug and November. I have a band, location, and someone willing to donate raffle items. This will be our first year eligible for TN Gaming License as we've been in operation for 2 yrs now w data. I'm also eligible for grants if anyone wants to do that as well. I have volunteers going to the shelter to take photos, evaluating dogs, and sending me bios to continue networking them for receiving rescues and/or adoptions. Funds are needed for emergency vet care, flea/tick and Heartworm prevention, and items needed to reduce shelter stress. And really, whatever else they need not provided by the municipal budget. Also, i will need some volunteers to work at the booth for the Autumn Street Fair this year. If you can, please either message me what you are interested in doing.

Currently there are 5 hw positive dogs at Mcminnville City Animal Control. All 5 in need of fosters. This posted fb fundraiser is specifically for them. Anything helps, but treatment cant be started until we have enough money!! Thank you all for continued support and prayers.

FOSTER NEEDED!!!!!

Update: Mandi will have to go back to the shelter as bad as this breaks my heart. She pulled the wire open on the pen and is getting out. One of my personal dogs is sick and ill right now, so they're not getting along. She is perfect inside and desperately needs and indoor foster. For now, she's safer at the shelter where she can't get out and get hit by a car.

An indoor foster would be so much better for her bc of the heat! She is now started on heartworm treatment, spayed, up to date on rabies, parvo, and bordatella vaccines, and all monthly preventions thanks to all of you that donated towards her, we literally couldn't do it with out you all. She is crate and potty trained, great house manners, sits on command, walks on leashe well, loves car rides, good with other dogs and cats and all people. She deserves to spend the rest of her days being loved!

Pet Tip: Always provide a wide variety of toys for your dog to prevent destructive behaviors. Different textures, scents, flavors, and sounds. Varieties include hard rubber, soft rubber, plush, hard nylabones, stuff less toys for shaking, crackle toys, squeaky toys, stuffable like kongs, lickie matts, food puzzles, and food dispensing toys...dogs need to chew on things and use their minds to be happy. Toys are great for providing mental stimulation and releasing energy through chewing. Warren here is an extremely high energy dog! He is always on the go or chewing on something. It didn't take him long to figure out where the toy box is and he loves bringing them here on the couch to entertain himself. It definitely keeps him from chewing on things he shouldn't like shoes or baseboards. Start your puppies off with plenty toys and reward them when they are playing with their toys. BBBBIIIGGGG shout out to HAWC for donating much needed heartworm prevention and dewormer to the city shelter dogs!!! 4 will be getting spayed and neutered next week and then headed to their receiving rescues the following weekend. So happy for all these pups and for all the support!!
