We are a new small animal veterinary clinic in Rock Island, IL, owned by Dr. Julie Hahn, opening December 2010! Our clinic is located in a house, you and your pet's "home away from home". We provide a comforting, home-like environment to reduce stress and anxiety for you and your furry children!

We did a full kitchen remodel this summer, and here are the before and afters! We love it! Our clinic house “kitchen” is our lab and pharmacy. We spend so much time in this area, it is amazing having it be updated and functional 🐾🐾🐾

Per the Veterinary Dentists recommendations and our personal recommendations, here is a summary of what to give your dog that loves to chew! Anything that can bend or you can indent with your thumbnail is ok. If it is harder than this, and doesn't soften with chewing (like rolled rawhides), they will break teeth. The traditional Kong toys with hollow centers filled with peanut butter or cheese or dog kibble works well, veggiedents, plain rolled rawhides (largest size) without knots and under supervision. Take them away when they get small or too soggy. Anything with a VOHC symbol is approved by Veterinary Dentists. If your dog is an obsessive and aggressive chewer, distracting with other things such as puzzle toys and lick mats can work well. The traditional large Kong toy is your best option for these dogs for safe and aggressive chewing. We do NOT recommend includes anything made with nylon (nylabones, benebones), antlers, butcher bones, and yak bones. We also do not recommend pig ears and bully sticks due to GI upset and bacterial contamination.

We have seen 3 beautiful molars fractured from this product in the past week. These teeth belonged to 2 separate healthy young large breed dogs. Below is a screenshot from their website safety information stating they break teeth. We do not recommend these, nylabones, or antlers. They all break teeth. Update: my very next appointment I found 2 more fractured molars of a young healthy dog from hard chew bones. 😳
