I, Shayna, and my husband, Byron, currently raise purebred Labrador Retrievers and Springerdoodles (English Springer Spaniel/Standard Poodles). It all started with our family of 7 that lived on our farm southwest of Rock Valley for about 18 years. All of our dogs were our pets and were owned by one of the kids. It started with Labrador Retrievers and Norwegian Elkhounds in the barn. Our females we

re only bred once a year, and usually had their puppies in the summer when the kids were out of school, to have more time to help out with the puppies. Now, although the location (and last name) has changed, the goal is still the same. Located near Rock Rapids, Iowa, my husband, Byron, and I carry on the DeRoos Kennels name, raising purebred Labrador Retrievers and Springerdoodles! They roam our 7 acres and are free to live as dogs should. We only have a few and each one is loved so much.

Our 🪶BIRD🪶 litter is off to their new homes next week, so we thought we would give you one last look at them!

Very sweet, beautiful puppies all with such different personalities. Some will cuddle right up next to you and be content the whole time, and others just can’t stop wiggling and wanting to play.

Silver labs are just beautiful dogs, seeing these puppies in photos just doesn’t do justice to seeing them in person😍

🪶🪶BIRD LITTER 🪶is almost 6 weeks old! We went out to the acreage to do some new photos this morning! Their beautiful coats are stunning against the rocks🩶 They are just super cute puppies, I can’t stress that enough😆🥹

Got a 2 week update from Thunder, now Hank💚
"2 weeks now that we have had Hank (Thunder) and he is growing like crazy. He has already gained 7 pounds and we call him Hank the Tank because him and his big clunky feet literally just plow their way through wherever they want. 😅 He is spoiled rotten though that's for sure. My daughter has a picture that she took of him in our backyard and submitted it in our 4H county fair photography contest and it may go to State Fair".
Sounds like he might be on display at the State Fair! So cool!

Our Story

We are a small family business that raises dogs and have been doing so for about ten years. We got the name from our grandparents old dog business and decided to keep it going in our family. When we were young, each child in the family gets his or her own dog to breed. My husband, Byron and I have now taken over the business and have still kept it on the small side while introducing a few newbies to the mix. We breed each of our dogs only once a year and the puppies are sold privately. All our dogs are up to date on shots, vet checked, and are all registered with AKC. The puppies get full vet checks, shots, records, and registration papers when sold. We will do air travel with an extra fee to do so. Our dogs and the puppies are well socialized and are our pets. We currently breed Springerdoodles (English Springer Spaniel/Standard Poodle) and Labrador Retrievers ( mainly black, chocolate, and silver).
