Safari wanted to help me with a few announcements for grooming clients!!

-At drop off please bring your dog to the door leashed. If you do not have a leash, because well we are human, let me know and I’ll bring one out to you. (We don’t want runners or other neighbors walking their dogs who might not be friendly)

-Please don’t let your dog loose in my house. I have cats that I don’t want to be attacked and also dogs tend to get excited and pee/poop (would prefer it not to be on the carpet. But I also know accidents happen and that’s okay)

-I dont allow clients in my home for services. If here for nails or quick services. I ask you please wait in your car.

-I don’t allow clients to stay for full grooms either. This not only makes my job harder because the dog is looking for you for commands. But it also makes them try to continuously run to their safe person and not have to be brave. Our dogs are naughtiest for their safe person. Just as human children are.

(My insurance won’t cover injuries or broken equipment as I had a non employee in my home for services.) if this is a deal breaker for you I’m sorry but there are other groomers out there or the vet that may be able to help.

-Any hair cut where I am trimming or cutting the body is considered a full groom haircut. A cleanup visit haircut is only face, feet, and sanitary trim. I’m not touching the body hair at all. Cleanup haircut visits are cheaper than full grooms. Sometimes your fur babies don’t need a full groom just a cleanup to get them to their next visit.

Fonso the golden cream

It was a very fluff packed day yesterday. Fonso came for his first ever visit! His parents started bringing his brother to me and then with some convincing I had them bring me Fonso. Fonso has special ear muffs because he truly hates the blow dryer. 😆 His parents were amazed to see how well he did with me around the dryer. They said he’s never usually that calm. We love to see it! 😍 Because he can get stressed for grooming Fonso is on “happy” meds is what I call them. They are medications that help ease anxieties or stress. You can get these from your vet. After chatting with the owners we decided to do the happy meds the night before with dinner and then the day of 2-3 hours before. The goal is to slowly ween him off to where he hopefully won’t need them. But patience is key. 💓
