We are celebrating 40 years in business today. It is because of all of you that we have made it this long so we will be having some fun this week for you on Monday, Tuesday and Friday only.
1. The first 12 people each day will get a cupcake from HHH Sassy Sweetery LLC and we all know how good they are.
2. The first 12 people each day will get a homemade grain free mini muffin and a peanut butter mini muffin for your dog..
3. We are having an old fashioned Rummage Sale. All summer clothes in our Resale Pet Supply Store will be $1.00 and all harnesses and collars will be $2.00, this will be Monday through Saturday.
4. Anyone who uses our DIY this week will get $4.00 off.

It's so hard to believe it's been 40 years and we want to thank you for your support and friendship over the years. We have seen clients children grow up and bring their dogs to us. Many of you have been coming to us for the 40 years and we have made so many lifetime friends. So stop in to help us celebrate this major event.

Hi there, I’m Grace, and I’m on the lookout for my forever adventure buddy! Ready to hear about all the fun we can have together? I love hiking and am always ready for a new trail. While I might pull a bit on the leash in excitement, I promise to shower you with kisses!

I’m confident, house-trained, and know commands like sit, stay, and more. I’m crate-trained when you’re away, love playing fetch, and adore attention. Cats are fun to chase, but with guidance, we can be pals. Just so you know, I’m not a fan of water adventures.

Ready to bring me home for some fun?!? I'm not even 2 years old so we should have lots of happy times ahead of us!

What is a "Sniffari"?🐶

Sniffaris are dog-led walks! They're a fantastic enrichment activity that can be done in just about any low-traffic area. Not only will this help burn energy, but allowing our dogs to make decisions and think independently can help them build confidence in different situations. It also gives us a chance to stop and take a breath along with them AND allows our pups to do a natural, essential behavior for their mental and physical well-being.💙

8/3 update: Jamie has been ADOPTED!

8/1 update:
We know that there are a lot of people out there invested in finding this girl her home! We have now received some applications and are working through them! We are in communication with some potential adopters trying to set up a time to meet and potentially take this sweet girl home. So, if you have submitted an application but haven't heard from us, please have patience with us as we work through these applications! We work through them in the order that they are received. We are a very small shelter trying to coordinate with multiple different people to find this girl her forever home!

From the bottom of our hearts, we truly thank everyone that has shared her picture! We're so close to getting this girl into her new home, and we couldn't have done it without the help of everyone spreading the word! We receive no public funding, so we really mean it when we say that we can't do what we do without the support and generosity of our community, and for Jamie, our community seemed to grow exponentially! So again, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!

We have been posting Jamie every single day for 34 straight days now, and she has had basically no interest in her. For some animals, we make a single post and are overwhelmed with applications, but that isn't the case for this sweet girl. People rarely come to play with her, and applications for her are basically non-existent.

We know not every home would be a perfect fit for her since she needs a home with no other animals. But even if you have other pets, you can still help Jamie out by spreading the word about her...talk to your friends and family or even just share her posts. We're not going to give up on her, but we need your help to find her forever home!

Jamie is 2 years old and she needs a home where she is the only animal. She LOVES her people and playing with toys. Office time and yard time are her favorite things in the world, especially when that means she gets to hang out with people. Her adoption fee is SPONSORED! (Edit: located in Jasper, Indiana)

Next up! We will be having a second clinic on 8/17. We are hoping to have a 3rd so we can reach local pet owners that are on the fringe.

Registration starts at 8:30 but pet owners may want to be there sooner. Please don’t bring your pets until your appointment time. We are partnered with Winnebago County Housing Authority on this clinic so it will be advertised to the residents within WCHA. This is open to anyone Winnebago Co pet owners that are on Link/SSI/SSDI.

Thank you to Napleton Subaru - Rockford and an anonymous donor for making this possible. These events help the community and the shelter in so many ways…

* microchips to get pets home vs impounded
* rabies compliance to keep pets home and people from getting citations
* owners can access the spay/neuter voucher (population control and pet health/behavior)
* preventative vaccinations (pet health and less surrenders due to not being able to afford vetcare and less citations for residents who can’t afford vet care)
* food support for retention

This clinics seem like not that big of a deal, but they’re huge! Thank you Winnebago County Animal Services for partnering/being present and Winnebago Co leadership for lowering the tag fees for us for these events!
