We’re shining the spotlight on our pets with something special: each day, one amazing pet will be featured as our Paw-some Pick of the Day — and for that day only, their adoption fee is waived!

👉Friday, December 5th's Paw-some Pick is Dipper A0047442447 !

Dipper is no stranger to WCAS—this is actually his fourth visit since May of 2019. Each time he has arrived as a stray. During his first stay, he was reclaimed by his owner. On his second visit, he was never reclaimed, but happily, Dipper was quickly adopted into a new home. Nearly four years later, he made his third appearance at WCAS and was reclaimed by his adopter. Unfortunately, this time around, his adopter did not come to reclaim him.
Despite the ups and downs, Dipper continues to show his friendly, social nature. During his time here, he had a dog intro with another male dog, which went very well! Dipper was friendly, initiated play several times, and maintained positive behavior throughout the interaction.
Now, Dipper is ready for a stable, loving forever home where he can finally settle in for good. He can’t wait to meet you—come visit the shelter during our open hours to meet Dipper and other pets looking for new beginnings!🐶✨

🎄🎉 **The Empty the Shelters: Holiday Hope Event Is NOW Underway!** 🎉🎄

Our Holiday Hope event is officially in full swing at WCAS — and it couldn’t have arrived at a better time!

We started the week completely maxed out on cat space and even ran out of cages. With **over 100 cats and kittens** currently in our care, every adoption makes an immediate, life-changing impact. ❤️

Thanks to the BISSELL Pet Foundation, adoption fees are significantly reduced for a limited time to help more pets find loving homes this holiday season.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the perfect time. From tiny purr machines to big snuggle bugs — and plenty of sweet, adoptable pups — we have so many wonderful animals hoping to go home for the holidays.

❤Remember Dean???❤

Dean came to WCAS as a stray in mid-November and was never reclaimed by an owner. But Dean didn't have to wait long to go home, after just a couple of weeks in our care, Dean was adopted!

Dean's adopter reached out last week before the Thanksgiving Holiday and passed along these adorable photos and this update!
🐾Thank you for your dedication to the pets you provide for. Today I adopted Dean. As such an over excited pup when I first met him at your facility he has gotten home and has been a remarkably calm fella. Checked things out around the house. Been outside to get to know his territory etc. He's worn out now and crashed for a nap. Thank you for what you do. Happy Holidays!🐾

✨🙏It's Wishlist Wednesday! 🙏✨

Our model is ❤Bram A0059631358❤ who is currently available for adoption here at WCAS!

Bram is a 2-year-old, 63lb Belgian Malinois who came to us as a stray and was never reclaimed by an owner, so his exact background is unknown. What we do know is that Bram has shown us just how social and friendly he can be!
While here, Bram participated in a dog intro with another male dog — and it went really well. He started off strong, excited, and a little hyper-focused, but after a few minutes he settled in beautifully. Both dogs ended up initiating play multiple times and were even able to hang out on dropped leashes, enjoying each other’s company.
Bram is an energetic, intelligent boy who’s ready to find an active, committed family to help him thrive. Come meet him during our open hours and see if he’s the perfect fit for your home!

👉Wednesday, December 3rd's Paw-some Pick is Blue A0057067895!

Blue first came to us as a stray in October of 2024 and was quickly reclaimed by his owner. Fast-forward one year, and Blue once again found himself at WCAS as a stray—however, this time, no owner came forward to bring him back home.
While in our care, Blue participated in a dog introduction with another dog. During the interaction, he maintained positive body language, kept a loose, wagging tail, and handled the meeting calmly and appropriately.
Blue is now hoping his next chapter will be his forever one. He can’t wait to meet you, so stop by the shelter during our open hours to meet Blue and other pets looking for loving new homes!🐶✨

‼🎉ADOPTION UPDATE!🎉‼

❤Remember Evma (now Nala)???❤

Nala came to us in March as an owner surrender due to a decline in her owner’s health. Upon her arrival at WCAS, she was examined by our veterinarian, who determined that Nala’s left eye needed to be removed due to microphthalmia. After her enucleation surgery, our team closely monitored her healing, and she recovered beautifully. Shortly after being cleared for adoption, Nala found her perfect match — in fact, she was adopted the very next day!

🐾Here’s an adoption update for Nala (her name was Evma when we got her) She’s doing great! She’s a donskoy breed.💖 She loves to play with our dog and the other cat we have! Super cuddly and people only come over to see her (she thinks) 😂🐾

Meet Homer! 💙 – WCAS's Newest "Pawffice Assistant"

Homer’s journey hasn’t been the easiest, but his spirit is unshakable! 💛

He first came to WCAS as a stray in March and was reclaimed by his owner. Seven months later, Homer returned as a stray and wasn’t reclaimed. He was quickly adopted, but unfortunately had to come back due to a family member’s allergies.

Through it all, Homer has stayed happy, friendly, and full of love! He’s even been promoted to our front desk, where he’s made himself right at home — loving the pampering, giving plenty of kisses, and claiming his very own office chair! 🐶🪑

Homer also gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Now, he’s ready to find a forever family who will love him as much as he loves his desk job. Could that be you? ❤️
