‼🎉ADOPTION UPDATE!🎉‼

❤Remember Clooney (now Bones)???❤

Bones came to us as the result of a welfare-related seized/custody situation in June of 2024, and after a few days in our care, Bones' owner showed up to WCAS and owner surrendered him citing that they had to many pets and could no longer keep Bones. However, Bones didn't have to wait long to go to a loving home, just a couple of weeks after his arrival he was adopted!

Bones' adopters passed along these adorable photos and this update!
🐾I adopted a cat in July of 2024, and wanted to share an update with you! He came with the name Clooney, and while he still has his papers in that name we've been calling him Bones. He is such a sweetheart and while he needed to have all his teeth removed, he has not let that tamper his personality down! He loves pestering his sister (another WSAS adoptee) and churus.

🌟🐾 Paw-some Pick of the Day! 🐾🌟

We’re shining the spotlight on our pets with something special: each day, one amazing pet will be featured as our Paw-some Pick of the Day — and for that day only, their adoption fee is waived!

👉Wednesday, November 26th's Paw-some Pick is Titan A0051887998!

Titan is a 3-year-old, 74-pound pup who first came to WCAS as a stray in January 2023 and was quickly reclaimed by his owner. Nearly three years later, Titan has found himself back in our care after his owner surrendered him due to landlord issues that prevented them from keeping him.
Upon his return, our team spent time getting to know Titan and shared that he was easy to leash and remove from his kennel. While he showed some initial nervousness, he walked well on leash and responded nicely to cues from staff. Once in the play yard, Titan warmed up quickly—approaching staff for pets, leaning in for attention, and even handing out a few sweet kisses.
Titan also participated in a dog introduction with a female dog here at WCAS, which went smoothly. Their interaction was positive, and no signs of aggression were observed.
If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who’s ready for a fresh start, Titan may be the perfect match. Come meet him during our open hours and see if he’s the right fit for your home!🐶✨

Charlie's adopters passed along these adorable photos and this update!
🐾He’s such a sweet boy. All he wants is a warm lap to lay in. Really just walked in like he owned the place from the start. Thanks for all that you do!🐾

👉If you believe one of these dogs is yours, please call us at 815-319-4100 and one of our call takers can speak with you about next steps OR stop by our facility.

👉We are open today (Tuesday 11/25) until 5pm.

‼🎉ADOPTION UPDATE!🎉‼

❤Remember Hot Fudge (now Journey)???❤

Journey first came to WCAS in late August as a stray, but no owner ever came forward to reclaim her. For nearly three months, Journey watched families come and go while she continued to hope for her chance. She became a familiar face to staff and volunteers, so you can imagine how thrilled we were when, earlier this month, her wait finally paid off — Journey was adopted

Journey's adopters passed along these adorable photos to let us know that Journey's is great in her new home!

👉Monday, November 24th's Paw-some Pick isLarry A0052851923!

Larry joined us due to a change in his previous owner’s housing situation, and now he’s hoping for a fresh start with a new family.
Upon arriving at WCAS, our team spent time getting to know Larry and immediately noticed his friendly, calm kennel presence. He was easy to leash and walk, and while he showed interest in other dogs as he passed through the kennel, he had great recall and never became hyperfixated — just curious!
Larry also participated in a dog introduction with another male dog, and he did wonderfully. He was excited to interact and initiated play multiple times, all while maintaining positive, appropriate body language.
Larry is a sweet, social pup who’s ready to meet his new forever family. Come visit him during our open hours and see if he’s the perfect match for your home! 🐶✨
