On Wednesday August 21st, 14 feral cats were fixed in Richmond County ✂️🐈 with the help of Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic SNVC and funded through our group through generous donations from Richmond County government and City of Hamlet and from our supporters!
10 female cats will no longer be reproducing and 4 males won’t be shaking their powder puffs around the county!!! Thank you to the members of our group for making this happen while I was sick with COVID. I am so proud of our board and team of amazing volunteers who spent the last week orchestrating this huge event! Y’all rock! And thank you to Dr.Thomas and the spay neuter crew we LOVE YOU 😻❤️

We are having a lot of folks sending their pets info over on our website for bookings but not completing all the steps. PLEASE read all the instructions and steps before sending your info and please be ready to pay for your procedure.

We do NOT have any female spays for dogs and have no cat appointments open until August. We will post HERE when those come available.

We are all volunteers and do not have the ability to follow up with every single inquiry in a timely manner, so if you fill out step one and not the others, your spot isn’t saved and you will need to reach back out again. This program is first come, first serve, and bookings will online be done through our site rcofix.com/appointments

We get charged a non refundable $50 no show fee if you cancel less than 48 hours in advance. Our program is only open to Richmond County residents. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

In a huge collaborative effort between Richmond County Operation Fix and Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic SNVC, City of Hamlet, North Carolina City of Rockingham, NC- "A City Looking Forward" Mayor John Hutchinson and The Hive Recreation Center our little group that “could” did the dang thang!

Starting last night, with our team of amazing volunteers, we successfully trapped 17 FERAL UNOWNED cats from various locations in Richmond County NC. All the cats received flea and tick treatment, got fixed, and vaccinated.

7 female cats will no longer be breeding and 10 males will no longer be making babies. In addition to the 17, we also got one to rescue thanks to Jeanne Holland Newton and Steve, and another mama from the depot will be getting spayed since she just had babies (she abandoned them-they got sent to rescue a few days ago). A big thank you to our commissioners and county for helping us with funding this endeavor.

Today’s cost between traps and supplies, surgeries, etc was $1676.60. Going forward it’ll be less since the traps are reusable. We are looking forward to doing this in our community more frequently and we look forward to preventing more unwanted animals. Big shout out to Godfathers Pizza Rockingham for lunch and Grille 415 for breakfast!!

A huge thank you to Rockingham Rotary Club for awarding RCOF $500 today! (And for lunch!) This money will fix 12 feral cats next week, during our Feral Trapping Project!

Today the Rockingham Rotary Club passed out over $42,000.00 in grant money to 22 different agencies within Richmond County. Rockingham Rotary also sponsors 4, four year scholarships given to students from Richmond County, $12,000.00 per year. We also distribute dictionaries to all 3rd students in Richmond County, $2500.00 per year. Please take the opportunity to support the Rockingham Rotary club every chance you get!
