We have a few announcements and reminders for you guys today;
First, we have an important update to the cancellation policy. As of MONDAY, JANUARY 13TH, The cancellation policy will be as follows:
Non vacation walks/drop-ins:

Cancellation 24 hours or less prior to scheduled visit: 100% of the visit fee.
Overnights and vacation walks/drop-ins:
Cancellation 7 days prior to start of booking: 30% of total bill.
Cancellation 5 days prior to start of booking: 50% of total bill.
Cancellation 3 days prior to start of booking: 100% of total bill.
*Please know that we do understand that emergencies happen that result in cancellations. If this is ever the case, please feel free to reach out to us directly. Also, any days that are canceled due to inclement weather are not subject to cancellation fees!
Second, we have some winter weather reminders:
Please make sure to clear the entryway that you would like us to use to get into your house of any snow and ice prior to our scheduled visit- ESPECIALLY STAIRS. This is for the safety of JOA as well as your pets. Failure to clear ice and snow may result in JOA not entering your house to complete the visit, and you will still be billed for the visit if we feel that it is unsafe to access your house. (This does not apply to clients who live in apartment buildings and condos where maintenance is responsible for snow and ice removal. We do recognize that there is no control over a third party. This is also not applicable in instances where the snow has accumulated during the day, after the client has left the home.)
Please make sure to leave out a towel for your pups! Nobody wants a wet house from a soggy pup that has just pounced through the snow… and even on days that they don't pounce through the snow, it is very likely that they will be walking through ice melt. Not everybody uses PetSafe salt, so a towel left out for their paws is always a good idea!
Lastly, as it starts to get colder out, in cases of extreme weather/ low temps, JOA may use our discretion to determine if it is too cold out for your pet to have a full walk. This is for the safety of your pet and will be determined for each pet individually, case by case. For those instances when it is too cold to safely have a full walk, we will provide a potty break outside and then indoor play to burn energy.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out directly!
Best,
Joni & Crys
