This page is an affiliate page of the rescue Fred's Friends (located in Northern California), which only takes in cleft palate/lip puppies. He was barely 1lb, had a cleft lip with a partial cleft palate, staph infection, entropion and possible hydrocephalus. He has since grown into an incredibly handsome, loving boy. He has become an advocate for cleft palate puppies and started Fred's Friends on their journey of rescuing these special puppies.

Meet Edgar, a lovable French Bulldog who's looking for his forever home! Edgar is around a year old and came to us as a puppy. He was adopted out last year but unfortunately had to return to our care just before Christmas due to his previous family’s daughter developing severe allergies.

Edgar is truly one-of-a-kind. He was born with a wobbly gait, a condition that will always be part of who he is, but it doesn’t slow him down! Despite his wobbly feet, he’s full of joy and love. Edgar is incredibly sweet, kind, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. His foster family has seen him blossom in just the short time he's been with them, and they’re amazed at how much he’s grown in confidence and affection.

This special boy is ready for a family that will embrace his uniqueness and provide him with the love and care he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal and gentle companion who will fill your life with happiness, Edgar might just be the perfect fit. He deserves a forever family who will love him just the way he is.

We rely on our fosters to make rescues possible. Currently, we need fosters for a few puppies. Ideal fosters will have a flexible schedule and some experience with dogs or puppies. Winter Update!!
Winter does not need surgery on her jaw! The vet felt that after removing the bone fragments she looked way better after just 24 hours. He and the ortho vet reviewed the CT and because she’s a puppy they both felt that allowing her to heal naturally was the best option.

She’s had her 10 day check up and the vet said her jaw looks great and the infection is gone. She’s a happy and healthy puppy!
We are so happy for little Winter and so thankful to the vets who helped her and of course to her foster family for giving her the BEST care!

Foster needed for little Luigi!!
He’s a sweet happy boy who has been fostered around other dogs. He will be having his eye removed and will need a foster willing to get him to/from appointments.

We will consider foster to adopt as well.

At Cleft Pup Brigade we rely on our dedicated foster homes to help puppies like these get back on their paws. Fosters provide a safe and nurturing environment where our animals can heal, learn, and grow before finding their forever homes. Without fosters, our rescue work wouldn’t be possible.

Meet Zeke, an adorable German Shepherd puppy with a big heart and a cleft palate, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit! Zeke is looking for a patient, confident family ready to guide him through the next stages of his development and give him the love and care he deserves.

Zeke is an active, curious pup who’s still figuring out the world, but he's making great strides.

A dog-savvy owner will be perfect to help him refine his social skills with other dogs.

Zeke’s potty training is going great—he’s starting to choose the same spots every time to go, and he's been very consistent. He’s also begun basic training, including marker training, collar training, and learning basic commands. With a little more guidance, he’s sure to become a well-behaved pup in no time.

This sweet boy would thrive in a big-dog-confident household with plenty of love and structure. If you’re ready for a playful, loving companion who has big potential to be an amazing part of your family, Zeke could be the one for you!

Shadow, Titan and Thor three adorable mix-breed brothers, who are on a quest to find their new family. These little guys were brought to the shelter as newborns with no mama and we took over their care. They’ve been hand-raised by some of the kindest humans around and are now fully equipped with a PhD in Cuddles and Charm.

These three little adventurers have been inseparable since day one. They’ve spent their puppy days growing up together, so be prepared for a bundle of joy, mischief, and boundless energy when you bring one into your home. They might not know their exact DNA results just yet (we're waiting on the big reveal), but one thing’s for sure – they’re 100% love, and 100% ready to steal your heart.

These boys may not have had a mama to guide them, but they’ve got hearts full of love and are so ready to share that love with you. New babies over here! We got a call for three bottle babies, and a tiny little cleft. Unfortunately, one of our bottle babies passed as she was really struggling 😔 but the other two are active and hungry. The little white Cleft Pup is doing well so far and taking to tube feedings. All are mixed breed pups, and we don’t know what the mix is-exactly. We wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Larissa who picked up the bottle babies in Bakersfield, then stopped in Fresno for the cleft pup. Then drove allllllllll the way up to Roseville!! What a trek!! We are so grateful! We could really use more people to be interim fosters along that stretch. And/or more transporters!! We know it’s such a busy time of year but help is so appreciated!! Bruce!!! It’s not only puppies around here! Little Bruce is on the hunt for his forever home. Bruce has cerebellar hypoplasia. Which means he’s a little wobbly on his feet. As you can see, he gets around just fine and it doesn’t slow him down. This is not something that will go away, Bruce will always be a little wobbly, but it doesn’t mean he’s not a playful happy kitty. This little dude is adorable and full of spunk. Friends, Followers, Supporters- We are coming to you tonight with a desperate plea. Last night around 2am FM woke up to her home on fire. An electrical fire started in the kitchen and ruined everything. The home is now completely unlivable and she has lost pretty much everything. The best news is FM, her personal dogs, her kitty and the rescues puppies ALL made it out safely. Big thank you to our wonderful firefighters. But this is a huge, devastating loss and the rescue is on intake hold. We cannot take on anymore animals at this time. FM lost her incubators and SO many important supplies we use for these puppies daily, not to mention her personal belongings. We have a HUGE need for help. If you can bottle feed, tube feed or foster a puppy for us PLEASE reach out to [email protected] FM is now without a home- and our most urgent request is for leads on rentals in the Great Sacramento area that are animal friendly. If you know of anything- PLEASE reach out! You can email any info to [email protected] or [email protected] This is going to take time to rebuild and heal. Please send prayers and love. Rachele’s personal dogs are being boarded and she and the puppies are currently with a friend. We will be needing to rebuild supplies- but right now without a place to stay we are asking for help with puppies, leads on living places and support.
