This page is an affiliate page of the rescue Fred's Friends (located in Northern California), which only takes in cleft palate/lip puppies. He was barely 1lb, had a cleft lip with a partial cleft palate, staph infection, entropion and possible hydrocephalus. He has since grown into an incredibly handsome, loving boy. He has become an advocate for cleft palate puppies and started Fred's Friends on their journey of rescuing these special puppies.

Estelle and Ernesto. Just two super special pups proving to us that they all deserve a chance! Estelle shows us everyday that hydrocephalus doesn’t mean ‘less.’
This little girl is spunky and happy and has a great time. She loves life.
Ernesto is just blooming, look at all that hair!! He’s gaining weight and learning to live the good life.
We are super proud of both of these kids!
So thankful for the volunteers who help us 🤍
Rescue has been overwhelming, but these pups are a great reminder of why we do it 🐾

Help!! TRANSPORT NEEDED 🐾
We are urgently seeking transportation assistance for a sweet dog who needs to be transported from Palo Alto to Roseville. The transport is needed either Monday evening (after 4pm) or Tuesday morning. We are in a race against time to ensure the pup gets to safety.

If you can offer help or know someone who can, please, please reach out as soon as possible. Your assistance would mean the world to us and to this dog in need.

We are urgently seeking a foster home for a 1.5-year-old merle French Bulldog boy currently in the shelter. This adorable little guy weighs about 25lbs and is dog-friendly. He has a cleft lip, but it doesn’t affect his ability to eat or drink.

He will be neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations before heading to his foster home. We are looking for a foster in the Greater Sacramento area to provide him with a safe space to decompress while we find his forever home.

Thanks to everyone who came to our adoption event today, clearly it was exhausting 😆
We’re coming to you with a Desperate Plea for Help 🐾

Our rescue is facing an incredibly difficult situation, and we need your help. Due to limited fosters and resources, we are on intake hold for all puppies—except those with cleft palates or other special needs. We have 3 newborns we have already committed too- but we just can’t take any more. This means, unfortunately, we cannot accept any more bottle babies at this time, even though local shelters are desperately calling for rescues to step up.

It breaks our hearts to turn away puppies in need, but we simply do not have the means to continue taking them in right now.

We desperately need foster homes in the greater Sacramento area. If you can help, please email [email protected]

We're also asking for your support to keep doing what we do best—saving lives. Any donations or supplies are incredibly appreciated as we work to get back on track.

Our little pitty pups captured by 🤍 How precious are they!

Pit bulls are often misunderstood, but they make incredibly loving and loyal pets. They are known for their affectionate nature & being gentle and compassionate with their families. Pit bulls are highly trainable, eager to please, and can excel in obedience and activities like agility. Despite their tough reputation, they are known for being playful, social, and deeply connected to their humans.
Their protective instincts, combined with their loving hearts, make them fantastic companions when raised in a caring environment. With the right training and attention, these pups will be wonderful additions to any home 🐾

URGENT: Foster Home Needed for Two Sweet Puppies – Starting This Saturday!

We are in urgent need of a foster home for two adorable puppies! These boys are likely a mix of shepherd and pit bull, meaning they’ll grow to be larger dogs. They are sweet, spunky, and lovable pups who’ve been fostered around kids and other dogs, and they’ve done great with everyone they’ve met. They are not Special needs puppies. They’re already sleeping through the night, which is a huge plus!

Due to their young age, we would love to keep them together for now. We desperately need a foster home by this Saturday to ensure they have a safe and loving place to stay while they wait for their forever homes.

Meet Estelle: The Sweetest Snuggle Bug Looking for Her Forever Home

Estelle is a special little French Bulldog with a heart full of love and a spirit that will light up your life. She may be a bit different from other puppies, but that’s what makes her so incredibly special. Born with hydrocephalus, a condition where fluid builds up in the brain, Estelle faces some unique challenges. Additionally, she has some vision impairment, but don’t let that fool you—she’s still able to navigate and explore the world in her own sweet way.

While she’s not fully blind, Estelle would do best in a calm and gentle environment where she can feel safe and secure. She takes daily medication to help manage her hydrocephalus, and we’re looking for a very special family who is ready to offer her the care and attention she needs. Estelle’s heart is as big as her fluffy personality, and she thrives in a peaceful space where she can snuggle up and feel loved.

Estelle gets along well with other small dogs and would be happiest in a home where animals are gentle and not rough with her. Because of her special needs, she is not suited for a home with small children. Estelle needs a family that can provide her with the patience, understanding, and stability that she deserves.

Meet Iggy, an adorable French Bulldog puppy who is ready to steal your heart!
Iggy came to our rescue as a tiny puppy with pneumonia, but thanks to some tender care, he has made a full recovery and is now a happy, chubby bundle of joy. While he's overcome his pneumonia, we discovered that Iggy has a condition called hypoplastic trachea. This means his windpipe is narrower than normal, which can make breathing a little more difficult, especially when he gets too excited. Because of this, Iggy will need a calmer, more relaxed home to help keep him comfortable and happy.

Iggy is being fostered with other dogs, a kitty, and older children and he has shown himself to be an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone! He’s friendly, affectionate, and a total cuddle bug. He loves to play, but his energy level is a bit more laid-back compared to other French Bulldog puppies. While he still enjoys playtime, he’s definitely on the mellow side. This makes him a great companion for a family looking for a chill puppy with lots of love to give. We think older children would be best for him.

Iggy may be a little quieter than your typical Frenchie, but don’t let that fool you—he’s still bossy and full of personality! He’s worth every bit of love and care, and with the right home, he’ll blossom into the perfect, low-key companion. If you’re looking for a snuggly, sweet puppy who just needs a calm environment to thrive, Iggy could be the one for you.
