This page is an affiliate page of the rescue Fred's Friends (located in Northern California), which only takes in cleft palate/lip puppies. He was barely 1lb, had a cleft lip with a partial cleft palate, staph infection, entropion and possible hydrocephalus. He has since grown into an incredibly handsome, loving boy. He has become an advocate for cleft palate puppies and started Fred's Friends on their journey of rescuing these special puppies.

Meet Ted! This sweet little guy is looking for a foster home in the greater Sacramento area. Ted was bottle-fed and hand-raised, so he’s had plenty of love and attention. Now that he’s a bit older, he’s ready to experience a true home environment and find a family to help him on his journey to his forever home.

Ted is social, friendly, and happy. He’s been socialized with other dogs and even a cat, so he’ll fit in well with other pets. He’s still young and eager to learn more about the world, and he needs a loving foster family who can help him get there.

He is a mixed breed- but we know he won’t get very big as he has cute tiny little legs.

Meet Lottie, a sweet six-month-old merle French Bulldog who is ready to find her forever home. Lottie is a special girl who was born with hydrocephalus and a cleft palate, but don’t let that fool you—she’s a little warrior. Although she has some vision impairment, she gets around just fine and brings so much joy to those around her.

Lottie will always need a bit of extra care, including daily medication, but she’s worth every bit of attention she requires. She’s great with other animals and enjoys the company of mellow dogs, but she would thrive in a calm and quiet home with older children who understand her needs.

Lottie may be different, but her loving spirit and resilient nature make her a truly special companion. If you’re looking for a dog who will fill your heart with love, and you’re ready to give her the care and support she deserves, Lottie just might be the perfect fit for you!

Meet Monk, the adorable and spunky French Bulldog puppy with a heart full of love and energy! This little guy has a big personality and is always up for fun. Monk is sweet, playful, and loves to bring joy to everyone around him. He’s been through a lot for such a young pup – he had an eye ulcer that required treatment, but the good news is he’s healed beautifully! While Monk doesn’t have much vision in that eye, it doesn’t slow him down one bit. He gets around just fine, and his playful spirit is as strong as ever.

Monk has been wonderfully socialized with dogs of all sizes and even cats, and he’s formed a special bond with his kitty BFF. He’s looking for a forever home where he can continue to share his love, snuggles, and playful energy. If you're ready for a fun and sweet companion, Monk might just be the perfect fit!

Shadow is still looking for his forever home!
✨️Bottle baby raised with his litter mates
✨️Socialized amongst cats, dogs, young kids & adults
✨️Fostered in Lincoln & available for meet ups
✨️Kennel trained! He sleeps in his kennel every day and all night 9-6am for the last couple weeks
✨️Breed is unknown as he was an orphan raised by humans.
We do have a DNA test pending and assume he will be a medium to large breen mix.

Adopt Sir Walter Bradbury – A Sweet, Blind, Playful Boy

Meet Sir Walter Bradbury, a lovable, goofy, and resilient 8-year-old boy who’s looking for a new home due to a family relocation. Walter is a blind bully mix with a heart condition, but don’t let that fool you—he’s a bundle of joy and has so much love to give!

About Walter:
Age: 8 (turning 9 in the summer)

Health: He takes daily heart medication but is otherwise healthy. He recently had a dental cleaning and did great!

Personality: Walter is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and playful. He gets along with dogs, cats, and kids (including toddlers and babies). He’s a little “bull in a china shop” when it comes to playtime, but he’s gentle and never aggressive. He’s super social and loves meeting new people and pets!

Special Needs: As a blind dog, Walter needs a home that’s mindful of his condition. He’s great with calm, friendly dogs but may not do well with more reactive dogs due to his inability to read dog body language. He’s also a bit clumsy, so he could accidentally bump into things or knock over younger kids while playing.

Why We’re Looking for a New Home: Due to a move to the UK, we are unable to bring Walter with us due to the country’s strict bully breed ban. He’s been an absolute joy to our family, and finding him a loving, safe home is our top priority. We’re hoping to find a family or individual who can provide the care and attention he deserves, and we’d love to stay in touch and hear updates about his new life.

Walter would thrive in a home where he’s loved and included in family activities, ideally with other pets or in a home where he’s the center of attention. He’s a loyal, fun companion who just wants to be with you.

Our sweet Juan Juan passed away last night, surrounded by those who loved him. It happened suddenly, after a seizure, and he didn’t come back. It was fast, but he was not alone. Juan was deeply loved, and his life, though short, was filled with joy, laughter, and so much love.

Juan’s strength and resilience were unmatched. He fought with all his heart and overcame obstacles that many couldn’t even imagine. He brought a special kind of light into this world—one that touched everyone he met. His spirit, his courage, and his love will always remain with us.

Juan is the reason we do what we do—the reason we fight, the reason we keep going. He showed us the true meaning of joy and love, and we will carry that with us always. Though his time with us was brief (he was only a little over a year old) it was filled with purpose and meaning. Juan Juan was happy, he was loved, and he was more than worth it.

We love you so much, Juany. Fly high, precious boy. 🌈

We wanted to give you all an update on our sweet Juan Juan. Unfortunately, he’s been having seizures recently, which we know can be part of his ongoing battle with hydrocephalus, especially given how severe his condition is. It’s been a tough few days for him, and for us, too.

That said, he has made such incredible progress and come so far in his journey. It’s hard to see him go through this after all the strides he’s made, but he’s a fighter. He’s feeling better now, and we’re doing everything we can to help keep his seizures under control.

We love him more than words can express, and we’re just hoping we don’t have to face any tough decisions. Your love and well wishes mean the world to us, so please keep him in your thoughts. We’re holding onto hope and continuing to fight alongside him. Thank you for all your support.

Martha, Maynard and Estelle ✨ Martha is a adorable little cleft bully (white & chocolate) who has been in the rescue for bit. She’s growing and doing great! We recently got a call for her brother, Maynard (fawn, blue eyes) who was surrendered with suspected hydrocephalus. It was so sweet to reunite these siblings. Estelle is out little fluffy Frenchie who was also surrendered with hydrocephalus. All are doing well and are the cutest little bunch! They all deserve a chance! We’re so happy these cuties got that. The glow up of our little preemies! All neonates are extremely delicate but preemie pups are even more so. We were so blessed to have them with an amazing foster for the first 3 weeks who helped them grow! They are fighters and have done incredibly well! We are so proud of the progress they have made. These two baby nuggets are still looking for a foster home! We’ve had some inquiries but nothing solid. The little black puppy boy is not special-needs, he was a bottle baby and is doing great now. The little brown and white bully girl does have a cleft palate and will need her cleft palate checked and cleaned out if any food gets in there. She will also drink out of a special water bottle the rescue will of course supply. We’d like to keep them together- as they are young and puppy interactions are so important for them right now while they’re learning and growing so much.
