Small and Tall Dog Training is all about teaching our canine friends using compassion and fun. At Small & Tall, we only use positive reinforcement.

We can teach your dog basic manners, help prepare for the Canine Good Citizen test, learn some tricks. No choke or prong collars, or force of any kind. Relax, have fun, and be amazed by how smart your dog really is.

Thank goodness for Healthy Paws Pet Insurance! Yes, I'm happily endorsing them.
No annual or lifetime limits. They have covered 80% of every medical issue my dogs have had, less deductible and veterinarian fee. They've covered the cardiologist charges for echocardiograms, ecg's, holter monitor (heart) and even the cardiac ablation procedure on our boxer Tilly. I haven't had to cherry pick what care she gets due to cost.
You may want to consider insurance if you know your dog is predisposed to genetic or hereditary illnesses/conditions

Dog wellness plans provide money for preventative care to keep your dog healthy. Pet insurance covers acute or emergency care.

This

No dog needs corrections.

There is never a reason to correct a dog.

When corrections "work" they do so by scaring, startling or otherwise interrupting behavior. They do not teach the dog anything other than potentially to be afraid of us.

So what do we do instead? We as guardians need to do a better job at understanding the motivation behind why dogs do what they do and we need to do a much better job at reading body language, managing their environments and teaching them alternate behaviors when they do something we would prefer them not to.

All of these things are on US, not the dog.

In today's final Let’s Be Brave class at Canine Prep School the students got to set up their own scent work/free work/obstacle courses for their dogs. These are ways to help dogs build confidence since they get to decide what they want to do, and how brave they want to be, all without our intervention of telling them what to do.

What do you do with all that excess packing paper they used for your orders? You throw in treats for your dogs to find!

We had three groups of pure fun during playtime in today's puppy kindergarten class!

When we're having play sessions in Puppy Kindergarten we take great care to be sure the puppies are comfortable and aren't put into situations they're not ready for. Archie and Luna are still feeling their way, while the littles, Bunny and Tasha, are just starting to play. And then there's Oso and Fern who are great playmates

I could watch this all day! Little Duke (cream colored puppy) hasn't had anyone to play with in my Sunday Puppy Kindergarten class, so I invited him to come to my Saturday class that has not one, but two littles in it. He was shy at first but you can see the progression of his confidence as the video goes on. Phillipe and Tobi did great giving him the space he needed to get comfortable

Today's Puppy Party turned out to be only little ones. They had a great time!

Today was our first Wednesday Puppy Party at Your Dog's Friend. We thought that little Daisy might feel left out but she happily wiggled herself into the play and all three pups had a wonderful time!

We didn't have puppy classes yesterday but here's a video of adorable Puppy Kindergartners Dagmar, Rowan, and Riley romping about in a previous class. Enjoy!
