In a world full of TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook reels, it is so easy to find ourselves comparing our own successes and stories.
Sometimes we have to take a step back and remember that every journey is different and our victories are still victories worth celebrating.
It’s the same thing in dog training. Not every dog will learn at the same speed, they won’t have the same level of confidence, and each will have their own goals.
Meet Ms. Maggie. Maggie was rescued about two months ago and while we know she’s not had it easy, we don’t know the details of her past. We do know for certain that it wasn’t what she deserves.
Naturally, her goals look a little bit different than most. My first visit included her barking at me, non-stop for well over an hour. No matter what I did or didn’t do, she refused to stop. It made it difficult to even have a conversation and she was clearly upset.
Thankfully, she has a family that loves her unconditionally and a trainer that refuses to give up.
I still can’t touch her, move towards her, or even touch a leash, but you know what she didn’t do today? Bark the entire time!
NOT ONLY was there VERY minimal barking, but check this out . . .
She learned “lay” within a short period of time, at a pace she was comfortable with.
Y’all, we moved mountains today.

Joplin’s Big Day
Miss Joplin had the BEST day today!
It started with overcoming her fears around jumping in and out of the car and later shared a couples spa date with Major, courtesy of Kevin Stanley with Barks & Bubbles Mobile Pet Grooming, LLC.
It ended with a patio date with her buddies, Major and Zero at Sideways BBQ in the Harbor for a veterans event with Patriots Pour: Building The Tribe! Her friends were the perfect role models and Joplin stepped up her patio manners to match those of her friends!
