We are open from 2PM to 12AM today, ready to help with any urgent veterinary emergencies. So if you’re dealing with a middle-of-the-night snack mishap, an unexpected adventure, or just need some peace of mind, we’ve got your back (and your tail)!

No need to panic, just come on in – and we promise they’ll treat you like royalty (with extra treats, of course).

Sunny ☀️ came to us on Tuesday with what his mom suspected was a GDV (gastric dilation-volvulus). GDV is a‼️life threatening‼️condition that occurs when a dog's stomach fills with gas, food, or fluid and subsequently twists. The RUV team immediately took action and his radiographs showed the classic "smurf hat" presentation that confirmed the GDV. Within minutes, Sunny was put under anesthesia 💉, prepped for surgery, and in recovery 2 hours after he got to us. If you notice your pet has a swollen abdomen, non productive vomiting/ retching, hypersalivating, and lethargy, it is best to seek veterinary care immediately! 🏥

They are phlebotomists 🩸, anesthesiologists, radiology technicians 🩻, and so many more titles all jumbled into one. 🏥 at RUV- our technicians work hard to make sure your pets 🐾 get the absolute best care possible and are the backbone of veterinary medicine! We are so thankful for each and every technician we have on our team 👏🏻 and we can’t wait to celebrate them this week! 🥳

This is Chica 🐾 This sweet angel got into a sago palm plant 🌴 which causes acute liver failure and can be fatal if treatment is not started within a few hours. ⚠️ Common signs of toxicity can include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, seizures, and unexplained bruising. Luckily, Chica's mom brought her in at just the right time! We hospitalized 🏥 her overnight and gave her lots of IV fluids, liver protectants, and snuggles. We hope Chica continues to heal and get well soon! 💓

Everyone was very nice, although I don't think they wanted me to know she may have not have had much time left. Unfortunately she passed after a while. It wasn't anyone's fault I knew she was ready. Oliver came all the way from California to visit his family and like every Texas visitor should, he got to experience the delicious barbecue 🍗 we have to offer. This led to poor Oliver having pancreatitis and feeling pretty bad 🤒 after some fluids, IV medications, and supportive oral meds, Oliver is feeling much better today!

Balto 🐶 was one of many patients we saw over the busy Labor Day weekend! Many lacerations and bite wounds, but Balto was the most excited to see us 🤩 luckily he just needed some quick wound care, meds, and the cone of shame to prevent further trauma to the area. We are here Saturday-Monday 10am-12am and Tuesday-Friday 2pm-12am for all your emergency and urgent care needs! ‼️
