Oliver came all the way from California to visit his family and like every Texas visitor should, he got to experience the delicious barbecue 🍗 we have to offer. This led to poor Oliver having pancreatitis and feeling pretty bad 🤒 after some fluids, IV medications, and supportive oral meds, Oliver is feeling much better today!

Balto 🐶 was one of many patients we saw over the busy Labor Day weekend! Many lacerations and bite wounds, but Balto was the most excited to see us 🤩 luckily he just needed some quick wound care, meds, and the cone of shame to prevent further trauma to the area. We are here Saturday-Monday 10am-12am and Tuesday-Friday 2pm-12am for all your emergency and urgent care needs! ‼️

August 28th is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🌈Today, we remember the beloved pets that have shown us unconditional love and whose memories we will cherish for a life time. 🤍 These are the dearly missed pets of the RUV staff. Each of these sweet babies grew up with their owners and helped shape us into the animal loving humans that we are. 🫶🏼 They will forever be missed and we can’t wait to one day see them again 🐶🐾

This handsome pup 🐶 Draco came in after running into a wasp nest and being stung multiple times. Like humans, pets can have anaphylactic events that can be fatal if not treated in an appropriate amount of time. Luckily, Draco just needed a few injections 💉 and he was good to go. He wasn’t very happy about being poked, so he found comfort in Jodi’s lap while giving us those puppy eyes 🥺 he also ran to lay on every dog bed we had on the floor!

Austin came in for limping after landing wrong while playing fetch 🎾 radiographs showed this sweet girl fractured her tibia/ fibula 🦴 on her left hind leg. Austin got pain meds and a splint, but our wonderful technician Hannah felt that love and cuddles needed to be apart of her treatment plan 💖 Austin clearly felt the same way 🐶🐾

Beau was SO excited to have a slumber party with us! 🤩😴 he came in for a possible gastrointestinal obstruction (he likes to eat everything!) but after lots of fluids and repeat radiographs 🩻, he was in the clear and able to go home to his adorable human sisters the next morning 👯‍♀️ Beau was the sweetest boy and loved attention, let’s hope he starts acting right for his pawrents! 🐾

Meet Milo! 🐶 this little guy is guilty of being a pro at hide and seek with his mom and going missing for an entire day! 🙈 he was found in the laundry room of the apartment complex but we’re pretty confident he wasn’t helping mom wash clothes 🧺 his physical exam showed he was perfectly fine but very hungry! 😋

Meet Arrow! 🐶 This handsome pup came in because he swallowed a sock 🧦 The staff at RUV immediately induced vomiting and successfully retrieved the sock along with some paper. Ingestion of foreign material, also known as pica, can have serious consequences that may require surgery if inducing vomiting is no longer an option. Although most pets will normally grow out of their pica habits, some do not and require supervision at all times. Scroll over to learn more about symptoms and treatments of pica! 🐾
