Hi there! My name is Charlie. I am a 1-year-old, male, Husky/German Shephard mix that weighs about 50lbs. I was originally found on 05/20/2024 near the Frontage Exit in Rockwall and never reclaimed. So now, I am available for adoption and can't wait to find my furever family. I am a very happy guy with a big smile and I love to brighten people's day! I walk well on a leash and have the potential to be crate trained/house trained quickly. I have been told that I am a very smart and pretty boy! I love compliments. They make me feel warm and happy. I have not met a cat yet, but I am interested to see what they are like. I love kids! I am pretty bouncy though, so I am looking for a family with kiddos who can keep up with me and love to have fun! I am having fun learning how to play with my sibling and what these wonderful things called toys are. I am litter box trained and almost ready to find my furever family. I will be old enough for preadoption on 06/18/24 when I am 6 weeks old and will be able to go home with my adoptive family on 06/25/24. Is anyone missing an adult female German Shepherd that weighs around 60 Lbs.? She was first found off of FM 1141 and Williams St. in Rockwall on 06/20/24. Unfortunately, the good samaritan who found her was unable to continue to hold her. She was turned into the shelter on 06/22/24 and is currently on stray hold for the next 72 hours. She does not have a chip and was not wearing tags or a collar when found. Meet Sloane! Sloane is a 7-year-old, female, Dutch Shephard mix weighing approximately 60lbs. She was originally found on Lakeside Drive in Rockwall on 09/12/2023 and sadly never reclaimed. Sloane has been looking for her fur-ever family for 242 days as of 05/11/24 and truly cannot wait to be adopted. Sloane will be live and in person here at the shelter until the end of July! Sloane has shown that she truly is a super sweet and affectionate dog! She really loves people and thrives in a home setting! She's great with kids ages 4 and up and is very gentle while they play with her. She enjoys playing fetch, but she is still learning the "retrieve/return" part of the game and will have a blast running around with the ball. Tennis balls are her jam! She is crate and leash trained. Sloane seems to prefer having a human companion over a canine one but meet and greets can be arranged if you have another dog in the home prior to adoption. Since Sloane has been a resident of RAC for over 90 days, she is considered a Diamond Dog with a reduced adoption fee of $75. He does well with kids, but has a bouncy nature and needs to be in a home with older children. His not good with cats or smaller dogs. I enjoy my snuggly blankets and a toasty bed to nap in. I am still learning to walk on a leash but RAC staff says I am very smart and seem to pick up commands pretty quickly. She does great with other dogs and has no interest in cats. She is housebroken and crate trained.

Josey has moved into foster care, but she really needs a forever home to call her own! Josey definitely will do best in a home with other dogs as that is who she is the most comfortable with. She would do ok in a home with kids 6+ years of age due to her shy nature.

I am currently in foster care so I don't have to wait at the shelter while I am waiting to be adopted. I am a puppy so I will need a family that has the time, patience and love to train me to be the best girl I can be.
