Bee update!

We came out of winter down to one single hive. Caught two swarms and that put us to 3 hives total. Just added supers, moved the trap hive to the apiary, and replaced the trap with another empty box. Moving a 10 frame deep brood box is no easy task from 12 feet up in a tree stand. 😂

It’s been a difficult week here on the farm. Both good and bad… we had four babies born and they are beautiful! One momma struggled but we were able to help her get those babies delivered! We also lost our sweet Benny. He was my buddy and he will be missed for sure!!

Edit to say… her snack is what was left of the cantaloupe my daughter got at W&A farms! If you are looking for any kind of produce… I highly recommend them.. we have enjoyed peppers, tomatoes, watermelons and cantaloupe from them!! They are the best and by far the freshest!

Swarm trap season is here! If you have a eastward facing tree line and would allow us to install a swarm trap as seen below, let us know! We only have a few and would love to be able to place them. We would need weekly access, or can show you how to check if a swarm arrives safely! Once they are established, we will remove them and place them in our apiary at the farm! thanks for your consideration!
