Training the Next Generation of Veterinarians!

Meet Dr. Jacob, the adorable son of our Practice Manager, Amanda!

Our tiniest (and possibly cutest) vet-in-training is already hard at work, keeping his stuffed patients happy and healthy. With his trusty sidekick, Chase, by his side, Dr. Jacob is ready to take on all the “paws-ible” cases!

Did you know? We have vet costumes for your little ones too! If your child wants to be a vet during their pet’s appointment, just ask our receptionist for a costume, and they can join in the fun!

We love inspiring young minds and sharing the joy of animal care. Who knows? Maybe one day, Dr. Jacob will be running the clinic too!

🎉 Celebrating Ashton’s 1-Year Anniversary! 🎉

This week, we’re excited to celebrate Ashton’s one-year anniversary with Franklin County Animal Hospital! 🐾

Ashton was born and raised right here in Franklin County before moving to Kentucky for College, where she spent several years working as a veterinary technician. Last year, she made the decision to return home, and we were thrilled to have her join our team!

She started with us as a receptionist and veterinary assistant and has since transitioned into the surgical department, where she assists our Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians. She is also currently enrolled in the Penn Foster program, working toward becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Virginia—a true testament to her dedication and love for veterinary medicine.

Ashton is incredibly knowledgeable, hardworking, and compassionate, and we know our patients are in great hands with her. We’re so lucky to have her back in Franklin County and as part of our team!

Please join us in congratulating Ashton on her anniversary and wishing her success as she continues her LVT journey! 🎉💙🐾

🎉 Celebrating Harley's 3-Year Anniversary! 🎉

Join us in congratulating Harley on three wonderful years with Franklin County Animal Hospital! 🐾 Harley started her journey with us as a kennel attendant and has worked her way up to veterinary assistant and client care specialist at our reception desk.

One fun fact about Harley—she is currently applying to veterinary school! Her passion for animals and dedication to veterinary care drive her dream of becoming a veterinarian, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Harley is incredibly kind, caring, and devoted to our patients. She’s often spotted working at the computer with a furry friend snuggled in her arms. Whether she’s assisting in exam rooms, helping our LVTs, or covering shifts at the front desk, she wears many hats and plays a vital role on our team.

Harley, we are so lucky to have you and can’t wait to see where your veterinary journey takes you! 💙🐶🐱

The Power is Back – And We’re Opening at 8am!

We’re happy to share that the power is back on, and we will be OPEN starting at 8 AM tomorrow! While we may not have nine lives, we’re feeling pretty lucky to be back in action!

However, our phones are currently down, and we are working to have them restored as soon as possible. In the meantime, please text us at 540-483-1272 or email us at [email protected] for any questions, appointment requests, or urgent needs.

This ice storm has been tough on our community, and we want to give a huge thank you to the hardworking first responders, linemen, and utility crews who have been out in the cold, clearing roads and restoring power across the county. Their dedication has truly been a bright spot in the storm!

Thank you for your patience and understanding—we can’t wait to see you and your pets soon!
