Sadly, 3 year-old Goofy has been in a shelter environment for most of his life. This is shocking to us because he is the absolute best dog and we love him so much!

He is a tall boy and 72 pounds. He is a leaner. He leans in to you to let you know he is there for you. Need a cuddle on the couch? Goofy is there! This handsome fella will definitely steal your heart.

The felines have requested pate friskies canned food, kitten canned food and kitten dry food! (We have over 200 cats/kittens in our care, they are very demanding 😄😺)
The pups request canned dogfood!!!

McGriddle enjoyed a stroll through the woods yesterday. This handsome man is such a joy to be around! He has a calm demeanor and loving nature.

Hi there! My name is Max Dennison. I was born 7 months and 3 days ago. My mom came to FCHS with me and my siblings in her belly. I was born in the shelter and for the last 7 months I have grown up here. I've watched my siblings get adopted and start their new lives, but here I sit waiting patiently. I know they love me here, but I think I'd love a family of my own even more. I'll do best with other kitties since I'm very social and enjoy the company of others. Please consider adopting me, I promise I'm worth it.

Description: Two female dogs found today, 10/22 off of hardy rd. One seems to be a golden retriever mix, and unsure what kind of mix the other is. They showed up on our front porch. Very skittish, but friendly. No collars. Definitely have been running for a while. They have both been fed and watered and are in a pin right now. Please reach out if you know the owners!!

♥️ Kitties In The City ♥️ Hey people!!!! Do you prefer to spend time talking to cats? FCHS Valley View PetSmart kitty crew needs you. We are looking for permanent volunteers for a.m. and p.m. cleaning/ enrichment shifts. The shift is usually an 1 hour sometimes longer. Depends on how many cages and how the cats are doing. Duties include cleaning the cages, interacting with the cats, keeping supplies stocked, sometimes administering meds, and keeping the other crew and off-site manager aware of how the cats are doing. This is an extremely rewarding experience, but a true commitment. Nothing is better than the feeling of seeing a person find their new family member. Let me know if you are interested. We have our Rocky Mount, Virginia main adoption center and we also have an off site location at Petsmart Valley View in Roanoke, Virginia. We call our off-site location, Kitties in the City. At this time, we're in need of permanent volunteers to keep our program running smoothly. We're looking for 1-3 volunteers that are available to help with morning clean-up shifts. It's about 1 hour give or take 10-15 min. If you're looking for a rewarding way to give back , please consider joing the Kitty Crew at Petsmart Valley View. We provide training before a shift starts. In addition to feeding, watering, and tidying our sweet kitties, being on Kitty Crew offers you time to spend with the fur-babies, giving enrichment and lots of tlc!
