Heads up, cat parents! 🐾

Feline panleukopenia (FPV)—also known as "cat parvovirus”—is still a serious threat, especially for kittens and unvaccinated cats. Though once common, this virus is now much rarer thanks to effective vaccines.
FPV attacks a cat’s immune system and can quickly become life-threatening if not treated promptly.

The good news? With early supportive care and vaccination, most older kittens and adult cats recover—and survivors often gain lifelong immunity.

The best defense? Vaccination. The FPV vaccine starts at 6-8 weeks with age appropriate boosters, and for unvaccinated adult cats, a two-shot series is advised.

Feline panleukopenia is a common virus in cats but can be prevented with the FPV vaccine. FPV also goes by the names feline distemper and feline parvovirus.
