This very sweet lady is Edna and she has fallen sick and started shutting down at the shelter. She won’t eat for us and is continuing to lose weight. She absolutely loves affection and wants to rub her head on you when you sit with her. She also likes to scratch on her cardboard box. She’s just not feeling good and will not do well if she continues to stay here. If there is anyone who is willing to meet this precious soul and take her home to make her feel better, we think it would really help her. She just wants to be with people. Can you be her hero today? 🖤

Pro tip of the week: if you are scheduled for an appointment and can’t make it - please call the clinic as soon as you know. Spots are limited and we need to be able to open the empty spots to others who may need to get their pets seen sooner than later. Also, it’s polite 🙂 have a great week everyone!

Please contact your Virginia State Delegate to oppose HB221. This bill is unnecessary and has the potential to harm the Trap Neuter Release programs that are the humane solution to reduce outside cat populations and will threaten the lives of the cats. The bill was drafted behind closed doors and did not include the animal welfare organizations that care about the cats.
To find your delegate go to https://whosmy.virginiageneralassembly.gov/

Sample email:
Hi [representative name]

My name is [Jane Doe] and I am one of your constituents*. “I am writing to ask you to OPPOSE HB221 because the bill lacks transparency, is unnecessary, and may have dire consequences for the use of Trap Neuter, Vaccinate and Return (TNVR), which is proven to be the most effective and humane solution for outdoor cat populations
Thank you,

*Tip: include the address at which you are registered to vote in your signature line. It assists staff in confirming that you are a constituent.
