Tonight we will introduce Brianna, who’s worked at this shelter for a few years now. She works hard to make sure the underdog gets a chance. We are always seeing her playing with the dogs and she even ran in our 5k this past year for the shelter!! We’re so thankful for Brianna.

Brianna has chosen Meador and Rusty as her spotlights! Meador has been with us almost 6 months but unfortunately wasn’t available for most of that time. Sweet Meador came in with his friend that had been starved and they were dangerously underweight. Meador slowly gained the weight he needed and also gained his confidence. He’s on the smaller side and has the cutest overbite of any dog!! He does well with other dogs and loves people.
Rusty is only a couple years old and came in as a stray. He has the best manners and even knows some tricks. He is so much fun to work with loves everyone he meets. He’s great with other dogs.

You definitely don’t want to miss out on meeting these two sweet fellas. They’re both fully vetted and do great with others.

Tonight we introduce Rachel!!! Rachel is the friendly face you will meet first when entering our shelter and will usually speak with on the phone. She does most of the front office work but she loves to get to know the dogs and cats and spend time with them as well. We catch her and some of the animals having conversations and we swear they have the best time. You can tell how much the animals trust her! Rachel has officially become the servant to the cats in the lobby!

Rachel has chosen Tia and Titan as her highlight!! Tia is around 7 months old and is the last of her litter here waiting for a forever. She’s a beautiful brindle girl, we think could be a mix of mountain cur but unsure what else. She’s great with other dogs and loves to cuddle. She could be the best friend you’ve been looking for. Titan is around 2 years old and is a hound mix, it’s said that he has some mastiff, but he’s on the smaller side. Titan is such a great boy with good manners and loves to play. He’s amazing with other dogs and loves b***y scratches! See video in comments!!! Titan does tend to get nervous around smaller children so we’d ask that he only live in a home with older or no children.

Please stop in the meet Tia and Titan!! You can’t go wrong with either pup and they’re both fully vetted!

Today’s introduction comes to you from a group of volunteers that have put their hard work together and have developed a much needed non profit to help our animals! Let’s welcome Friends of Franklin County Animal Shelter!!!

They have picked Vena and Pepa to highlight today!! Vena and Pepa are a sweet pair of hounds that only they know what they’ve endured in their life. All we know is that we will make it our mission to find them an amazing forever home that will show them all the love they deserve. They came in so terrified that they wouldn’t even walk on their own! They have blossomed into two social girls that still need positivity and compassion, but are well on their way. These girls are loving, do great with other dogs, and every once in a while you’ll catch them let loose and have some fun. They are bonded so need to stay together, but we know there is a perfect home for them. These girls are not hunting dogs, they are pets!!!

And in welcoming the love of the upcoming holiday…. VENA AND PEPA WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE NAME YOUR PRICE ADOPTIONS THROUGH 2/15 with approved application!!! Get bonus points if you mention Vena and Pepa when coming in to adopt!! 💕💕

Tonight starts our week long adventure into getting to know our staff and volunteers and a special pup or two as well!!!

Meet Stephanie…. She is the voice of many live videos, enjoys taking dogs on tv and loves to help the animals that are looked over! As with all the staff and volunteers, she loves to spend time with all the animals so she has picked Baby and Buddy to spotlight!!! Here’s what she has to say….

“Buddy and Baby are two of the sweetest, yet playful and funny dogs you could meet. They love unconditionally and will truly make you feel better on a bad day. Buddy came in after being outside most of the time with a chain wrapped around him. He has loved being inside and loves to be around people. He has loved every single dog he has met. Buddy loves car rides but doesn’t like to face forward… he’s hilarious. While Baby is more reserved when she first meets you, she turns into a zoomie master outside and loves to play with other dogs. She will just lay with you and be that constant that you sometimes need. She helps fold laundry and doesn’t complain!! Baby is the best secret keeper of dogs and humans as well. Both Buddy and Baby would do best in a home with another dog. They have become good friends as they are both very similar. I love them with all my heart, so please give them a chance at a forever home filled with love.”

We have dogs needing to come in but we need to get these dogs to safety first!!!

If you can’t adopt, please volunteer, donate, and share! You can even sponsor an adoption where you can pay the adoption fee for a specific dog.

We do have a few huskies needing to come in and a cane corso/lab mix. We also have an older collie mix that is needing to come in. If you’re interested in any of those dogs, please let us know. We can do meet and greets!

We are in need of two laundry baskets and a cheap vacuum. It can be any kind of push style-household vacuum. (no shop vac)

Tuna and Furbo have now asked us to reach out to ask for some wet food! They are getting nervous as we are down to our last case of wet food. For Tuna, she enjoys the little extra but for Furbo and many others in our custody right now, they depend on their wet food as many have very few to no teeth. Our cats are not picky on brands, they are happy with anything.

Both Tuna and Furbo are available for adoption and hope that they can find a forever home soon!

We are so excited to let everyone know that our wonderful Mayor Holland Perdue came by our shelter last week to meet our animals and volunteer some time! He was gracious enough to sponsor Rusty and Sia’s adoption fees!!! Both dogs are fully vetted and ready for their forever home.

We hope that everyone will follow Mayor Perdue’s lead, come volunteer, sponsor an adoption, donate much needed supplies or even better, ADOPT!!!
