THIS FRIDAY 7/12 at HH from 4-6:30pm Hailey & Lacey’s kids will be running a lemonade stand to raise money for Basecamp’s newest foster pups! Some of y’all may have seen Hailey bring them in and out during pickups and drop offs, some stuffed in her overalls or all crammed in her arms 😂

They came to the rescue from an awful place about 4 weeks ago when pups were about 2 weeks old with their mama dog. They were infested with fleas, ticks, and internal worms. 4 out of the 7 pups passed away due to health problems beyond what we could help. It was a heartbreaking few weeks! We didn’t think at all that these 3 pups would make it, but they have against all odds! Papaya, Kiwi, and Blueberry will all be up for adoption in the next couple of weeks after getting the all clear from the vet.

All money raised from the stand will go straight to their ongoing vet care, as well as their mama’s spay after she’s weaned them! Come snuggle some cute puppies and grab some lemonade from some really cute kids (okay I’m definitely biased on the kid part!) Can’t wait to see everyone! 🍋

We are wishing the happiest second birthday to our HH Conway roommates today, !!! Time totally flies when you’re vaccinating, spaying, and amputating right? 😂

Seriously cannot stress what a gift it has been to have the vet clinic under our roof. Dr Lori and the staff don’t even bat an eye anymore when we walk in with our absurd questions and random abandoned parking lot baby birds, and we only barely turn green anymore when they tell us whatever gross surgery they did that morning.

It has also been enlightening to see the sometimes heavy emotional toll working in a vet clinic can have. There are many a day where they keep it together in an exam room for a client and then have their own cry about it, only to have to turn around 10 minutes later and smile for the new healthy puppy in the next room. I can’t imagine any job more exhausting.

Finally, WE are so much better at taking care of your dogs over on our side because of their willingness to teach and share information with us! We know so much more and panic so much less, and I know that translates into how our staff communicates with you the pet parents.

ALSO rememeber how we said our internet was out? And phone service is spotty? Well hug a supervisor when you pick up from boarding because they’re currently walking to the CAR WASH at the end of the street to get enough phone signal to post pics and update parents, then calling the manager who is going back and forth from home 20 miles away where there’s internet, just to update dogs’ feeding and medication instructions, and check them in and out so our rosters are accurate. And they’re smiling. 😁

Nobody loves a crisis but we do love a reminder of how dogs make everything better 🩷

Thanks everyone for checking on our Rogers location and pups! We are all safe and very thankful that only one outdoor yard was taken out with fallen trees, and our building didn’t sustain any major damage. 🩷
