Oh my gosh! I can’t say write accurately how thankful we are for all of you! We had an amazing turnout for our party and loved getting to chat with so many of you.

We are humbled by the support of the community helping our family owned small business stay afloat. We couldn’t do it with out y’all!

Big shoutout to all our employees coming and helping man the event and our family that sacrificed to help us also. Also thanks for the support from our reps that helped make the party a success.

I think of the business as being in the awkward teenage growth spurt years now 😂. We are growing quickly, handling it well, but still will have some growing pains. We need another vet so keep telling all your friends 🙏.

Puppies are the best!
Did you know that puppies require boosters of core vaccines about every 3 weeks until they hit 16 weeks old. The big 2 are distemper and parvovirus.
Other important vaccines for our area include leptospirosis, bordatella, influenza and Lyme.
Starting them on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention is also great! We offer a FREE sample to 8 week old pups to get them started off right 💙

HUGE THANK YOU! We had a pretty full day despite the weather. Y’all that made it in today helped us more than you know! We are going to close early so the few brave souls left can make it home.
We will be open tomorrow with a super limited staff so stay safe and we will help who we can.
Big thanks to our staff for being rockstars and for my wife and kiddos helping out this afternoon when we were short handed and busy. Even though she’s not experienced in the world of vet med she did great!!

Warning *about to be really transparent on social media*
The new building was a necessity as we didn’t have enough space anymore to adequately care for our number of patients and clients. We chose to stretch the budget in order to “grow into” the building instead of running out of space again in 1-2 years. Cost of construction and loan rates being so high made that budget even more difficult. “In for penny in for pound” kept ringing in my head.
Fast forward to completion and things are great in the new building but any missed days really affect the ability to make our payments. Add to that the major price increases our distributors passed on to us and rising costs in general and the margins are razor thin. We don’t have the backing of a multi-million or billion dollar corporate entity to absorb those hits, it’s just me, my wife and kids.
What I’m getting at is the snow that may or may not come this week will be a huge financial hurdle for our small business. Here’s how we can help each other:
I’ll be here and I want to see and take care of your beloved pets. I’ll hopefully have a few staff that make it if it snows so don’t cancel on us unless it’s not safe for you to come.
Also based on the accuracy of the forecast in the past it could 70 degrees and sunny so wait to see what actually accumulates pretty please!
We love you and your pets, we love serving NWA and we love the challenge of business ownership. We are excited to celebrate in a few weeks with you all, in the meantime let’s get to work! Thanks for all your help!!

Thanks for everyone’s patience while I was out of town for our family vacation! We had a great time and got some much needed rest from real life and work. We blazed back yesterday and are ready to get back into the swing of things.

Vacations are weird for me owning a small business and being the single doctor at the practice. I desperately need a break from time to time but also feel bad leaving my patients. I also don’t get to fully disconnect as I still have bills to pay and no one pays me PTO.

Say a prayer for us to find the right vet to add to the practice so we can help more people and get the right balance of work and time off with family.

We appreciate all of you and your help making our practice what it is. We want you to have the best life for you and your pet and we are glad to be part of their care!

What really happens to the pup when we take them back.

Chief checked out the window and said, “doNt caNsal ur apointMants uMan fraNds!” There is some slush but it’s not bad. Excited to take care of everyone we can today!

Only look if you like pimple popper style content 😂 This is an abscess on a bunny that needed drained. This usually happens due to a small puncture wound and draining and antibiotics will get them fixed up.

Day 1 of trying to reach more people so we can hire a great vet! Dr. Owen attempts to identify meds by smell only. Round one he went 1/3 so better luck next time!

There’s a lot of snow but a couple of us die hards will in today!

If you see this in your pets stool, definitely give us a call! But did you know that pets often have intestinal parasites you don’t see in their poop? 💩 Yep, the worms like to live in the intestines eating away and lay their microscopic eggs in the poop. These eggs can survive year round and spread when pets sniff around, lick butts, or simply ingest nasty things. That’s why we recommend being on Nexgard Plus or similar monthly heartworm prevention. These deworm the animal and prevent other nasty diseases, even in the cold months!

Folks check this out! Penny had one knee fixed a few months ago and recently got her other one done before getting adopted this week! She is doing sooooo well! You can hardly tell she had some of the worst knee ligament tears we had ever seen! We did an experiment where I bought the two best rated genetic tests for our new pup we got from @bigpawsoftheozarks rescue. He looked like a Pyrenees mix of some sort or maybe a doodle. He doesn’t shed but his sister does. I paid $85 for the breed test from Wisdom and $109 for the breed test from Embark. You can pay a little more for more genetic info from either kit. The process was simple for either and I feel like both results were accurate and helpful. In the end I don’t think you can go wrong with either! #vet #puppiesofinstagram #dogsofinstagram #dna #mutt
