So many of my pups this week came in immaculately brushed out. 🥲 Makes me so happy.

Hey guys, Some of you guys know I had to make a last minute trip to visit my Grandma last October. Unfortunately I knew that was going to be my last time seeing her, she passed away during Christmas Break. New Years Eve heartbreak.

I will be having to travel back home to California in April for the celebration of life. I’ll be moving appts around and contacting clients with out flexibility to see where I can move them through the day today. Trying to do this in advance so people have time to rearrange and update calendars since I narrowed down the days I’ll be away.

Thank you everyone for your patience.

10 Tips for Introducing a New Pet to Your Household

Bringing a new bestie home is exciting, but it can also be a bit tricky, especially if you already have other pets. Here are some essential tips to ensure a smooth introduction and a happy family:

1. Prepare a Separate Space: Before bringing your new pet home, set up a quiet, separate area where they can feel safe and secure away from your existing pets.

2. Take It Slow: Gradually introduce your pets to each other. Start by allowing them to sniff each other under a door or through a gate to get used to each other's scents.

3. Use Positive Reinforcement: Reward your pets with treats and praise for calm behavior during introductions. This creates a positive association with the new pet.

4. Supervise Initial Meetings: Always supervise the first few interactions. Keep the new pet on a leash if necessary, and be ready to intervene if tensions rise.

5. Monitor Body Language: Pay attention to your pets' body language. Signs of aggression or fear may require you to take a step back and give them more time apart.

6. Keep Routines Consistent: Maintain your existing pets' daily routines as much as possible to reduce stress and keep them feeling secure.

7. Provide Individual Attention: Spend quality time with each pet individually to reassure them that they are still loved and valued.

8. Create Safe Zones: Ensure each pet has its own space where it can retreat if it feels overwhelmed or needs some alone time.

9. Be Patient: Every pet is different, and some may take longer to adjust than others. Patience is key to a successful introduction.

10. Consult a Professional: If you're struggling with the introductions, don’t hesitate to seek advice from a veterinarian or a pet behaviorist.

Reminder: I don’t charge fees for bad weather day cancellations. I do not expect you to make it in, I rather you be safe.

Just note that rescheduling can be 2+ weeks out but unfortunately this is just how this time of year goes. We’ll get all those shaggy pups looking dapper in no time!

We need towels and rags!! As always, one full bag gets a nail trim. We always appreciate the donations.

We’ve had a lot of senior pups with incontinence and not potty trained puppies lately. Which means we’ve been throwing away a lot of p**p towels. Unfortunately we do not have a washer and dryer on site, we have to send our towels out with a local mom who washes for us on the weekends. I will not give her towels with traces of p**p on them so in the trash they must go!

If you have any old, ripped, bleach spotted, unmatched towels, we are looking for them!

Happy New Year!

A gentle reminder as winter weather arrives: it's either doggy clothes OR a long hair cut. If you choose to keep your dog in a long cut, it's best to forgo sweaters and jackets, as using coats over long hair can lead to severe matting. A good rule of thumb is that if the hair is long enough for you to run your fingers through it (about finger length), it's best to avoid clothing.

If you are diligent about brushing properly and only use clothes for outdoor outings, removing them as soon as your pet is back indoors and brushing out any potential knots and tangles, you're in the clear!

We also have recommendations for haircut styles that work well with both long hair and doggy clothing. Feel free to ask us at drop-off! Otherwise, it's best to choose one option or the other.
