Breeder Alert Foaling Alarm

Breeder Alert Foaling Alarm The Original Halter Foaling Alarm in the U.S. since 1979 Most deliveries proceed normally without complications. However, you never know when a problem may arise.
(12)

Breeder Alert® Halter Foaling Monitor was developed in 1979, to alert the foaling attendant of an impending birth to assist the foal and/or mare if necessary. It may be a simple task of breaking the sack to save the life of a foal or having time to summon a veterinarian if needed. Most expectant mares will lie flat out before and during the foaling process. The majority of mares foal at night and

breeders can spend many long sleepless nights watching and waiting for a foal to arrive. Our Transmitters utilize a "G Sensor" to determine position of mare's head. Other halter systems still use a basic tilt switch which will allow false alarms to occur (we used tilt switches in our older systems years ago). The best safeguard against losing a foal, and possibly a broodmare, is to have someone present. As the owner of an expectant mare, you go to great lengths to ensure a smooth and successful delivery. Helping your mare bring a new life into the world comes with responsibilities, including proper veterinary care, nutrition, and planning. With the aid of Breeder Alert® Foaling Alarm you will be alerted when your mare is flat out in the foaling position and be ready to monitor and assist in the birthing process if necessary.

What a wonderful way to start our day... Thank you Liz for your kind words :).
"Janet,
Holy smokes! I was a little apprehensive (not because I didn’t think it would work…it’s just new to us!) to buy this product, but it was worth every penny we spent on it. It arrived just in time and we were blessed with a beautiful palomino stud c**t early this morning. Your system was easy to set up and it worked like a charm. I love that it sends continuous signals as the mare continues to lie flat. This seems to save several trips to check on our girls as we quickly learned that she was up and down all night but when it continued to send the alarm, we knew it was go time! We love this system and we will be sure to pass your business along to other breeders we know. Thank you!!

Sincerely,
James and Liz Irish

Our sincere thanks to Kate Fleming of Meadows Equine Farm in North Carolina. Notes like this are really so appreciated. Can't wait to see the foal of this beauty.
"Just wanted to take time and send a thank you note!! The breeder alert has changed everything.

Attached is our girl Paradise Lost, now we are able to let her out on the pasture with her transmitter, and I am no longer sleeping in the tack room.

Had a few false alarms where she was just sleeping peacefully, but it works at a good distance away as our house is not close to barn, and our barn is steel, so it works thru metal which is amazing.

Thank you so much for sending this out for me on Friday,"

"Hey there
Just wanted to give you guys a 100% customer satisfaction review.
I had heard of your product through someone in the community and purchased one this spring and I am SO happy I did!! I was concerned about potential for false alarm as but surprisingly only had a couple! At 341 days I had two alarms back to back and popped my head outside to hear my mare in active labour. I got to see the whole thing and it was pretty special for us as Sadi is our heart horse and she gave birth to her beautiful strong c**t at 4:30 am on May 8th
Peace of mind is priceless. I will be recommending this system to anyone!
Thank you!!
Cheers
Laura Braden (from PEI Canada)"

I hope you can take the time to read this beautifully written note we received and we love the happy ending! The sweet photos are definitely a bonus! Now this is one we will not forget... Thank you Kallie TePoel!
"I have been meaning to let you know how big of a lifesaver (literally) the Breeder Alert has been! If it weren’t for this device we would have lost the foal and most likely the mare as well! The pregnant mare that we had foaling first, unfortunately got into our continuous panel fencing when she was rolling. The trauma of this put her into labor and the baby was unable to be delivered due to not being positioned properly. Thanks to the Breeder Alert, I was made aware of the mare being in the fence immediately!!! Otherwise, she could have been stuck for an hour or so before I would have seen her and we would have never gotten her the help she needed fast enough!
Thank you so very much for this device! When purchasing it I was hoping it would help me to get the much needed sleep at night, but it did so very much more than that!!
So very grateful!
Kallie"

This is a story that touched us. A beautiful ending, thank you so so much Natalie Shelbourn for sharing. The moments you captured in these photos says it all. Thank you!
"Just wanted to say thank you for shipping a Breeder Alert to us so quickly. Our plan has been to send our mare out to foal but circumstances at the last minute made that impossible. You were able to quickly send us a Breeder Alert and not any too soon as the mare foaled 3 days later. We were so thankful to have the Breeder Alert because the birth did not go smoothly and we are sure without knowing immediately that something was happening we would have lost our mare and her foal. Having the Breeder Alert gave us the opportunity to contact the vet and to assist to make sure everyone was safe. Thank you again."

"Thank you Breeder Alert Foaling Alarm!! This filly is here because of your system!
Mom started foaling in the middle of the day while we were busy and not checking as often. Beeper went off, checked the cameras and it was go time! Baby needed some help coming into the world and we saved lots of time of mom struggling and possibly losing baby because we were alerted and got there quick!!

"I just wanted you to know I had purchased an alert system thru you late last
year. I am certain if we would
not have had this our foal would not have made it. The alarm went off and
we went to the barn within 5 minutes when we got there our mare was already
standing and the foal was still in the sack laying flat out. My daughter
removed the sack and cleared her nose. If we wouldn't have gotten there on
time our foal would have suffocated. I know this is fairly common with an
older mare and I am glad we purchased your system and avoided the potential
loss of our foal. I am a
100% believer.."

"Just wanted to say thank you so very much for this amazing device Breeder Alert .
This alarm saved the life of my little guy Vinnie. It was evening and I knew my miniature horse mare was due soon but she wasn`t showing immediate signs of foaling. All of a sudden the alarm went off, the barn is approximately 350 ft from the house so not that farm. I check the camera and she was down and pushing, by the time I got to her the foal was already born but still in the sack. Thanks to the Breeder Alert Alarm system this baby was saved since I was there in time to rip open the sack and get his airways clear. Thank the Lord !!!!! This little c**t was named MnMs Livin On A Prayer aka Vinnie maybe it should have been Livin due to Breeder Alert :) Thanks again guys and keep up the good work, my mares depend on you ." So very thankful in New Jersey Karen Mokuau Stoney Acres Ranch / Mokuau`s Minis

Thank you so much for taking the time to send this to us Luanne! The story of the birth was heartwarming to read and we are all thrilled that this little one is happy and healthy! Those legs!! Best Regards, Janet @ Breeder Alert

"Maiden mare just gave me a feeling she was going to be a problem foaling, I had a foaling alarm on her and it went off Thursday morning at 1 AM and I just new this one wasn't a false alarm this time! And thank goodness for Breeder Alert!. She sprang up as I walked quietly to the barn unfortunately, and then proceeded twice to lay down in a position where she was going to foal into a post or into the wall, so I had to get her up, oh dear. Eventually took her outside the barn where she refused to lay down, and had the foal standing up, fortunately I was there to catch it to prevent fatal head injury to the foal from falling. Injury to the foal was averted. But she proceeded to reject the baby, and I don't do rejections ever. So thankfully with the help of banamine, luteinizing hormone, oxytocin, xylazine, and Ace, a good stud chain on the lip and helper who can be a velociraptor, and then milking the mare an hour and a half later, we have a converted mare who took her own baby and finally let it nurse. So, then I dealt with the retained placenta, oxytocin hourly to invert the placenta and after 3 hourly injections, she finally passed it. CBC and IGg passed, no septicemia, and IGg was 1200! Without the Breeder alert, so many bad things would not have been averted, thank you! Happy Foaling!"

How about this little beauty! Thank you Josh, your note is most appreciated and thank you for sharing a picture for us to enjoy!

Janet,
Maple, my belgian mare wasn't due til March 8 ... She showed some signs recently that she might go early so just in case I strapped on my new Breeder Alert . Usually I fret and worry and get up several times a night to check on my mares ( 5 this year) , and I still miss the birth . Anyway, I strapped it on and went to bed and slept soundly. Until 2 AM . I was brought to full consciousness quickly when my pager went off, ( I should use this thing for my alarm clock) . I raced to the barn just as Maple delivered a beautiful foal .
This was my experience . I give your gadget 5 stars. It is a game changer. Thank-you for a great product, I look forward to using it on my remaining four mares . See the attached picture . Regards, -Josh Hershberger

Thank you so much for sharing Margaret! We are thrilled that all is well with this cute little guy!
At 2.45am this morning, Willowdale Tipperary gave birth to a c**t foal, Tipperary Phoenix. Larry gave assistance when only one hoof presented first, breaking open the amniotic sac to locate the second hoof and head & bring them to their normal birth position. Though not distressed, Tippy’s pushes were not achieving much so again Larry assisted to pull baby gently but firmly intime with her contractions, further out of the birth canal until he finally slid out.
We watched until 4am to ensure Phoenix passed the meconium & was suckling happily. I had Betadine’d the umbilical cord & rubbed down the baby’s wet fur coat as the wind was chilly. And Tippy enjoyed her bowl of chaff & other goodies after her exertions.
He is a friendly & confident - almost cheeky - boy, & now exploring his surrounds in between frequent visits to the milk bar & short sleeps.
This tiny foal has perfect markings including a distinct cross & has already worn off his protective “slippers” with his antics.
Thank heavens for the Breeder Alert foal alarm which woke me from a deep sleep so we were there if needed, to help. As indeed we were. As a breeder, this foal alarm is the best investment I ever made.
