Despite the storeβs name, we are NOT a small dog store only! We have a great selection of food and products for dogs of ALL sizes and cats! And now for a little background....
Puny Paws Pet Shoppe is perhaps the biggest tiny pet store you will ever see! The shop was proudly established in late 2008 By Sue Yasinitsky as Puny Paws Dog Boutique. Located in Rohnert Park in the Mountain Shadows Plaza, Puny Paws began as a quiet store selling a small hand full of products and accessories. If people didnβt stop in to shop, they came to visit with the four βassistants,β the original Puny Paws pack: Katie, Lana, Bailey and Quinn. As word of mouth spread, the shop became the go to place in town for pet fashion, premium and holistic food, supplements and pet care consultation.
Sue provided a unique customer service experience that cannot be found at a mainstream pet store. When customers would walk through the door, they would be recognized; and not only that, but their pets and preferences would be remembered too! Whether a family got a new puppy or an owner was dealing with a frustrating health issue, Sue enlightened both dog and cat owners with advice, knowledge, ideas and answers. If something did not work, she would keep at it until results were seen. Part of what Sue did best was provide up to date news and brutal honesty about the pet food industry. She taught customers that picking healthy food was more than reading an ingredient list. She taught people how to properly decipher food labels and to seek out brands that have integrity, transparency and provide special care into their production. When her advice was taken, it became clear to many that proper nutrition can make a difference in their petβs lives...more so than standard or prescription pet food available on the shelves.
In February 2017 a brand new customer walked through the door with her just adopted tiny Pomeranian mix, Missy. It did not take long for the two of them to realize that they shared the same passion and enthusiasm for animals, pet care and holistic nutrition. Fast forward two years, the two are still close friends. After much thought, Sue decided she and her husband wanted to finally pursue a well deserved retirement. Sue struggled with the idea of closing the business. She did not want to desert her loyal customers whom she has helped and bonded with over the years. The store was so much more than just a business to her, it was her pride, joy and masterpiece. Sue deliberated the storeβs future and decided to take a chance and ask the customer, Andriana Paulos if she would like to take over the shop as owner. Andriana said yes immediately and got to work learning how to manage the shop.
