Restoring your petās health with Ozone therapy- By Jonathan Lowe
The Complete beginnerās guide
Chapter 7- Your beloved has as many options as you give him
>Nancy: Iāve read about several different ways to administer ozone to my pet. How do I know which method of administration to use and when to use it?
>Jonathan: A great question. Letās run through the different ways ozone can be administered first. Iāll just list them in order, touch briefly on each one, give a description of when each one is used and how itās done. How does that sound?
>Nancy: That sounds great!
>Jonathan: Letās start with the technique that is the most common one used at homeāRe**al Insufflation. Basically, you fill a bag or syringe with ozone and attach a catheter to it. Then, you lubricate the tip of the catheter and insert it three to four inches into the re**um. Gas in then infused directly into the colon. When done, you just remove the catheter. It only takes a few minutes, really!
While weāre talking about insufflation, thereās another method known as Vaginal Insufflation, which uses the vaginal cavity to absorb ozone. We carry a special vaginal installation insert that is put directly into an ozone generator while the ozone gas is infused into the vaginal cavity with a continuous flow for five to ten minutes.
Another method for administering ozone is Ear Insufflation. With this method, a modified stethoscope or uniquely designed application ear insufflator is connected to the generator and is run into the ear while ozone is infused for five to ten minutes. While this is done, you will want to hold the insufflator to your petās ear.
Some people have used Bladder Insufflation, where a catheter goes directly into the urinary tract and ozone gas is infused into the bladder. Generally, the same amount of ozone that is used for Re**al Insufflation is used in Bladder Insufflation.
Next, we have whatās called Limb Bagging. This method of ozone administration addresses wound or injuries of that nature. It involves putting a bag over a limb or a part of your petās body, sealing that bag, allowing ozone to flow into the bag, and keeping the limb in the bag for about ten minutes.
Fluids are another means of ozone administration. There are numerous ways to use ozonated fluids. You would use a special water or fluid bubbler and attach it directly to the ozone generator. The ozone bubbles through the water for 10 to 15 minutes; and, once thatās complete, the ozone-infused fluid can be used in several ways. Ozonated saline can be used as eye drops, which is a great way to treat ocular infections. Ozonated fluid can also be used as a wound wash, but you wonāt want to use saline for hat because it can irritate the wound.
Moving on from there is another method of ozone administration called Minor Autohemotherapy (MHAT), which is used to stimulate immune response. To perform this treatment, a small amount (1/2 ml to 5ml depending on the size of your pet) of blood is withdrawn and mixed with ozone and then injected intramuscular.
Next is a method known as Prolozone or Polo+Ozone. With this method, a mixture of various vitamins, Dextrose, and Procaine are injected into the animalās joint or back. Afterward, you follow up with ozone afterward. Typically, this method is used to treat joint pain that may be caused by injuries, arthritis, or degenerative conditions. Itās on of those methods that you wonāt be doing at home, but itās a fantastic way to treat several joint and back issues.
Another novel way that veterinarians are using ozone is in combination with Acupuncture, and weāll talk about that in the final chapter of this booklet.
Something that goes beyond the scope of this guide to ozone therapy is O3UV. Itās a combination of ozone therapy with Ultra Immunotherapy (aka Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation.) With this treatment, we use Major Autohemotherapy (MAHT) and run ozone-treated blood past UV light combining the two treatments into one super treatment. Again, I wonāt go into details about that treatment method. I just want to know that itās out there and being used successfully to treat several chronic diseases.
People are also using ozonated oils and ozonated creams to treat skin, ear, and oral conditions. These products can be purchased through a company like HonestO3. If you visit www.honestO3.com, youāll see what Iām referring to, and thereās specific formulas for pets.
The last ozone administration method probably wonāt apply in your case, but itās called Intramammary Insufflation. This method is typically used for dairy cows with mastitis or other infections. With this method, ozone is infused directly into the udder from the ozone machine.
Other ways of using ozone are evolving over time, but the ones Iāve shared are the basic treatment methods currently available.
>Nancy: So, thatās it?
>Jonathan: Yes, thatās it!
Case Study
Name: Pixie
Indication: Degenerative Suspensory Ligament Disease
Results: Full Recovery
Parent: Darcy
Pixie was one of those extra special pets for Darcyā¦ she was heaven sent.
She had some spinal degeneration which has bothered her. But one morning she had a spinal embolism in her neck. When that happened, she immediately went to the ground and couldnāt move at all.
She had some spinal degeneration which has bothered her, but one morning she had a spinal embolism in her neck. When that happened, she immediately went to the ground and couldnāt move at all.
Dr. Drummās recommendation was to get the Hummingbird and take it home to do re**al treatments on her because oxygenation was the key to healing this issue.
Darcy took it home and began to treat Pixie daily. Three weeks later to the day, PIXIE STOOD UP.
Darcy viewed this as a miracle.
Now Pixie is back to walking, running and doing all the things that dogs do.
