Hey y'all! We want to thank everyone for your patience while our salon is short handed. We are currently still hiring for a full time groomer. In the meantime, once school starts back in session, I plan on teaching someone how to groom. Hopfuly, by the time the holidays comes around, we will be fully staffed again. Again, thank you all! I do belive we have the best customers any groomer can ask for. 💜

Hey y'all! Story time! I wanted to introduce you to Miss Rosie. Rosie is a special girl who had a rough start to life. When she was adopted by her amazing new family, she's started to come to us for grooming.

Rosie was very scare and used her teeth to show it. When she didn't want something done, she would bite. And she did so with conviction.

It took about 5 or 6 visits for her to become comfortable enough with me to not need a muzzle while grooming. Each time she came in, Sav would say hi and speak kindly to her. After a while longer, Rosie was okay with Sav washing her and actually liked it when I worked on her.

Now, Rosie is one happy girl. She curls up into my neck and shoulder, same with Sav. She sure has come a long way. Due to gentle hands, kind words, and patience, she is more relaxed than ever being groomed.

This is our promise to the pups we see. We promise to be compassionate, understanding, and patient. We promise to do all we can to make this experience as positive as possible. 💜

This week on The Groomer Next Door podcast Dr. Laurie Coger returns to discuss the activities from this past week from the FDA. (FROM THE FDA) The FDA alerted pet owners yesterday to a Dec. 20, 2018, recall of dog food manufactured by Lystn LLC, dba Answers Pet Food. Salmonella, which can cause serious infections in dogs and people, was detected in a sample Lystn, a Pennsylvania-based company, recalled a lot of “A+ Answers Straight Beef Formula for Dogs” from distribution and retail locations in the state of Nebraska, after testing by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) found Salmonella in a sample. The company has not recalled the product nationwide. The Food and Drug Administration is working with Lystn to determine comprehensive distribution information. The agency is warning consumers that the following product should not be fed to pets. A+ Answers Straight Beef Formula for Dogs. Lot 2018 20/08 20 The company specializes in “100 percent natural organic” raw pet food, according to its website, and recommends that pet owners supplement the A+ Answers Straight foods with unpasteurized goat milk or kefir made from unpasteurized cow’s milk. Raw meat and unpasteurized, raw dairy products frequently carry bacteria and other pathogens.
