1. There are over 70 million stray animals in the United States.
2. Each year, 6.5 million animals are brought to shelters.
3. Only 10% of dogs find a forever home.

Animal shelters and rescue centers play a crucial role in addressing animal homelessness by offering temporary care, finding loving homes, and saving lives.

The South Delta is fortunate to have South Delta Animal Rescue (SDAR), a dedicated non-profit working to reduce the stray population in Sharkey and Issaquena counties. SDAR focuses on spaying/neutering rescued animals and rehoming them, making a significant impact on the community.

Isabella was found in Nitta Yuma. She’s up to date on her shots, she’s been spayed, she’s around 6-8 months old. She’s a very tall dog, she loves to run, treeing squirrels is also one of her favorite things. She’s very high energy so she definitely needs a yard she can run in safely. She loves to give hugs and just wants your love. If you are interested in her please fill out her adoption application.

Today we had a little photoshoot with Val, she was found by the local grain elevator with a fractured leg. We took her to the vet she spent several weeks there. She now runs around and plays just fine. Val loves to be around other dogs shes very high energy. She’s the perfect companion for morning walks. She will need a home where she has space to run and play. She is heart worm negative and has been spayed. If you are interested in her you can fill out an adoption form in the link below! 🌟 Update🌟

Monday was a busy day for us! We had not 1 but 3 adoptions. We had three chihuahuas that were owner surrenders. We are so thankful they found homes so quickly! We also processed our first adoption on our new software pet established! We are very excited that this software will make the adoption process so easy! We are hoping the t shirt orders will be in this week as well, there was a small hiccup with the shipping company. We will let yall know when they are ready for pick up!

Today, our rescue team is blessed with an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of six adorable puppies! They were found by a kind man near Nitta Yuma and Anguilla, and have been graciously brought to us for care. Although they were covered in fleas and possibly ringworms, they are now bathed and at a loving board member's home. We welcome any donations to help provide these sweet pups with the care they deserve! Below are the different ways to make a donation!

Cash is an owner surrender. He is super sweet, very smart and crate trained. Very close to be fully house trained. He’s very high energy needs a family that can dedicate the time he needs to burn the energy off. He’s a schnauzer terrier mix. He’s only about 7-8 months old, he’s up to date on shots. Bank of Anguilla received our 2024 Community Area Revitalization Efforts (CARE) Award in recognition of its efforts in using FHLB Dallas community programs to help Rolling Fork recover from last year’s deadly tornado.
