Back for this Saturday only!!! The Gilpin Grateful Acres Haunted Trick Or Treat Trail! We had so much of a demand to run it an extra day that we decided to chance the wind and cold another week 🧡🖤💀👻🎃🧙🏻 THIS SATURDAY October 12th from 6pm-9pm. This is geared towards kids but it’s a blast for all ages! Come meet the animals and trick or treat🧡🖤🧡🖤 We will also have tshirts for sale!
32 Elk Meadow Lane Black Hawk. At the top of Creekwood off of South Beaver Creek. There will be signs!

Today is the day! And WE HAVE PUMPKINS FOR SALE!!!! Come out and meet the animals, hang out on the haunted trail and eat some pizza skulls and Carmel apples! 🍕 💀 🎃 🍎 👻 We will also have t-shirts available, yard games and a bouncy house for the little kids. A big thank you to Peace, Love and Cakes for hosting Carmel Apple decorating and to Elevated Impressions for rushing our t-shirt order ❤️❤️

Hey there friends and neighbors! It’s officially fall and time for the Gilpin Grateful Acres “Fall-O-Ween” fundraiser. 🎃🍁We have some fun stuff plannned including an opportunity to meet the animals, a haunted trail through the woods, trick or treating, Carmel Apple and cookie decorating, a scavenger hunt, pizza skulls and more! This is an all ages event. The haunted trail is suitable for everyone and all lights, flashing, sounds and fog will be turned off until dusk to give the faint of heart a chance to experience it 👻 (sorry guys, no gore or jump scares ☠️).

When: Saturday October 5th from 4:00pm-8:00pm (rain, snow or shine! )

Where: Gilpin Grateful Acres- 32 Elk Meadow Lane Black Hawk. Please carpool when possible
NO DOGS/NON SERVICE ANIMALS ALLOWED PLEASE!

Why: We are doing this to raise money for the sanctuary for feed and for the final toouches on the exterior of the barn. We also want to give the community an opportunity to meet the animals and see the new barn, and to have fun!!!🖤🧡🖤🧡

Gilpin Grateful Acres Update

Hey there friends and neighbors! I am excited to update you on some of the things going on around here. We have had a snowy, wet winter and after some personal changes and growth over the last few months, we are all ready for some sun and forward movement ❤️☀️
The most exciting news is that the barn is 99.9% finished and almost ready for inspection. Having been sent the wrong materials initially, there have been a few things that have had to be worked around. After that, there are a couple drainage issues needing to be addressed as well as building out stalls on the inside, and reconfiguring cattle panels for the yards on the outside. I have had a lot of interest from the community in getting this project finished so i just wanted to share where I am at with the project and what the farms needs are.

To finish the barn:

-Fill dirt/gravel
-“Lumber” for the stalls(This is open to interpretation 😂 Depending on what you have laying around, we may be able to use it)

Always collecting:

-Cattle panels
-Hog panels
-Chain Link (in manageable shape)
-Metal fence posts

I am also working on getting waivers together to start accepting regular volunteers! Please let me know if you might be interested in the following opportunities:

To finish the barn:
-Moving dirt/gravel for drainage inside the barn
-Building out stalls
-Moving cattle panels

Always needing:

-Cleaning stalls (goats,sheep, llama)
-Cleaning chicken coop
-Cleaning rabbit cages
-Cleaning reptiles

I am looking at hosting an event on the property this summer so please keep watching for more information! I will be posting more frequent updates and photos and I can’t wait to see you here❤️

The last of the metal siding went on yesterday!! All closed in…BEFORE snow comes again. Now trim work, and lots of metal straps and ties. After that, final inspection and interior stall building!

We are super excited about our recent partnership with The Mountain Peoples Co-Op in Nederland. Thank you to Brady, who has been personally delivering boxes of slightly wilted vegetables and trimmings which have been immensely appreciated by not only the goats, sheep, llama and chickens but also the rabbits, bearded dragon, parakeet and the crickets/cock roaches that are raised for the reptiles. The barn is almost ready for final inspection. We need to raise $750 to finish it. A page worth of plans needed to be corrected and we need to pay for the final stamp. We are so close!! We are looking to host a fall/Halloween event in October and hope to announce a date soon as well as dates for scheduled visits to the farm.
