UPDATE: Poppy is currently on a sleepover with a family. Everyone cross your fingers and hope for a good fit!
Poppy is a favorite among our volunteers! She always gets good report cards from her field trips and everyone she meets always has something amazing to say about her. She is a laid back girly who is desperately waiting for her forever home. She came in with her puppy Pippa. Pippa was adopted a couple weeks ago and we are trying to find Momma a home now! Poppy loves people and other dogs. Come meet Poppy! She has been her 62 days and she is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on shots! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11:30am-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-4:30pm. We are located at 99 North Avenue Rome, Ga 30161.

Meet Shorter! This sweet boy has been at the shelter for 63 days and he is ready to bust out of here. We picked him up as a stray. He is around a year old and only 37 pounds. He's dog friendly and loves everyone. His last picture is his intake photo. We found him super skinny on a chain with a lock on it. He has not had a great beginning at life. We are hoping we can turn the rest of his life around and find him the best home ever! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11:30am-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-4:30pm. We are located at 99 North Avenue Rome, Ga 30161. Come meet Shorter and see his dazzling smile!

REPOSTING so people can share the text info as well as his picture since the last post wont allow it to all be shared.
This is Tony Bologna. Tony came into the shelter scared out of his mind. All Tony would do is sit with his nose in the corner of his kennel and shake. He tried to make himself as small as possible to hopefully be ignored. Dogs like this often do not make it out of the shelter due to lack of interest in adopting a scared dog.

Staff decided to give Tony a break from his kennel and bring him into the front office to let him decompress from the loud noise. Tony came around pretty quickly and realized no one wanted to harm him. He has brightened up and jumps around and wags his tail and he's now overjoyed to see the staff when they come in!

Tony needs someone that can take the time to earn his trust. We think Tony would do well with another dog in the home to help his confidence and to show Tony how the family works.

Tony did not come from a good life. He needs someone that will have the patience and love to see his beautiful soul. Please like, comment, and share so he will be seen and hopefully get out of here and into a rescue or loving home! Tony is neutered, dog friendly, microchipped, and up to date on shots. He is heartworm positive but the shelter would handle the treatment at no cost.

This beautiful soul is named Poppy! She came in as a stray a couple months ago along with her puppy. They wandered into a local business asking for help and the business called us to come and help them! We picked both of them up and Poppy is now looking for her forever home. We already have a potential adopter for the puppy but Poppy is still in need of a forever home. She is around a year old and is on the petite side weighing less than 50 pounds. Volunteers took her on field trips and they all said she did an amazing job. They said she was super well behaved and loved meeting new people. This dog is going to be the light of someone's life if we can just find that special someone for her! Like, comment, share! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11:30am-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-4:30pm. We are located at 99 North Avenue Rome, Ga 30161.
