Winter is a beautiful girl who is looking for her forever home!

Winter is a lovely brown, black and white mixed breed weighing 44 pounds. When people meet her, they comment about what a beautiful dog she is! Winter came to the Rome Humane Society from animal control and has been with us for a little over a month. In her time with us, we have learned that Winter is a sweet and playful lady that loves attention! She loves when you throw her toys for her and has an irresistible “look at me” expression that makes you want to provide her with the endless love and attention she deserves.

This beautiful dog is ready to steal your heart and will always make you feel loved and appreciated. She deserves a loving home where she can soak up all the belly rubs she deserves!

“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever” -Karen Davison 🌎🐾

After spending months at the shelter, Trey’s world was changed forever on Saturday December 21st when Toni and Stephan visited the Humane Society of Rome and decided to adopt him just days before Christmas! 🎁

Renamed Hershey, he loves his life with his new family and his owners have quickly fallen in love with him too, telling us:

“He is so well behaved and easy going! He was a huge hit with the family at Christmas and I was amazed at how good he was with the grandchildren! He goes on a 3-mile walk each day with my husband and absolutely loves it. He has claimed not only his spot on the couch, but in our hearts as well!! Thank you so much for showing him love while he was there! I’m sure it helped him remain sweet! 🦴🐾😊

Our hearts are bursting with happiness for Hershey and his new family! 💖💖💖

Every dog adoption through the Humane Society of Rome is eligible for 1 FREE WEEK of access to GoodPup AND A DISCOUNT FOR LIFE!

Learning alongside your pet is a great opportunity to strengthen your bond, provide your dog enrichment, and have fun!

With GoodPup, you get private, one-on-one dog training over live video calls. Their trainers use science-based, positive reinforcement methods to teach cues, address unwanted behaviors, and socialize dogs.

Plus, between training sessions, you have access to the GoodPup chat room where you can get additional training, behavior, and medical support.

We are so very grateful to Erin Marie from Tangles Salon & Boutique for all of her hard work, time and energy collecting massive amounts of donations through her 4th Annual Christmas for Fur Friends! Erin arrived at the shelter this morning with a trailer FULL OF DONATIONS!! 😲👏

Humane Society of Rome is thrilled to benefit from Erin's collection efforts again this year! The shelter dogs and cats are so lucky to have so much food and treats and toys and much more heading into the new year! 🦴🦴😊 🐾🐶😺🐾⭐

Meet Tray:

Tray's personality is a delightful blend of sweetness, goofiness, and gentleness. He's also quite the intellectual, one of his charming quirks is his adorable habit of shaking hands with his paw - a testament to his friendly and sociable nature. Tray's intelligence and good manners shine through when participating in our Dog’s Day Out Program. His gentle and goofy nature ensures that there's never a dull moment with him around.

Tray would love to play in your yard with you or become your walking companion. He provides entertainment when he jumps in a pile of leaves or runs around in the snow. He is currently working with the kennel staff to perfect his walking skills. He starts out with some energy but quickly settles in and enjoys the walk.

Tray is microchipped, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He is 5 years old, weighs approximately 50 pounds and is a black and white mixed breed.
