Strays: Will be on stray hold for 5 business days. Proof of ownership is required to claim.
Strays are normally found animals brought in by the public or law enforcement. Owners may claim their animal within 5 business days of the animal’s arrival. Proof of ownership can include, but is not limited to; Microchip, Vet records, Bill of sale, Photos, Registration papers, etc.
All dogs and cats (ages 4 months and up) in Duchesne County are required to be up to date on their rabies vaccine.
If the animal is not claimed within that time, it will then be evaluated and may be posted for adoption and/or rescue

UPDATE ADOPTED🥳

🐾 Believe it or not these cute brothers are still looking for their forever home! 🐾

Nico (white) Big boy (black) would love to get adopted together, but it isn't a requirement.

These sweet boys are around 1.5 - 2 years old. Unfortunately their world got turned upside down when their owner passed away, and family were unable to keep them. They are very eager to bust out of the shelter. Nico and big boy can be very shy with new people at first, but they warm up fairly quick. Once comfortable they are quite the little lovebugs with funny personalities.

Their adoptions fees are $180 each that includes the neuter, vaccines, and a microchip.

We have quite a few barn cats available for adoption! They are just $8 each. All are fixed, vaccinated, and ready to bust out of the shelter!

UPDATE: Adopted 🥳❤️

Little Kirt is now neutered and ready to find his forever family!

Kirt was recently brought into us a stray by some good Samaritans. He was very scared and extremely underweight. He has gained a little weight since arriving and is making great progress. He is pretty shy with new people, but once he is comfortable with you, he is the sweetest little guy! He loves to be by your side and sit on your lap for snuggles.

We are guessing he is around 1 year old. Kirt weighs around 8 lbs. He seems to do well with other animals but is very scared of them at first.

Kirt’s adoption fee is $180 (covers microchip, current vaccines, and his neuter)

Rowan Whitethorn is prepared to serve you and be your most loyal companion!

He has been stuck at the shelter far to long and is ready to face his next adventure! Although Rowan can look intimidating, he is actually a big ole softie. Rowan is an absolute sweetheart with our staff. However, he can be very mistrusting of new people, especially men. Once you have gained his trust he will follow you to the ends of the earth. He loves car rides, other dogs, and his people. He is eager to learn and seems to catch on to things quickly. This magnificent boy is ready to find his forever home!

We are running very low on puppy pads! If anyone has some extras to spare we would greatly appreciate it. They can be dropped off during business hours or left by our front door. Thank you!

Much like her name’s sake, Professor McGonagall is a skilled magician. Her main hobbies include exploring high places, snuggles, and using her spells to break into all the yummy snacks. McGonagall is keen to cast judgement on all new people she meets and will not allow just anyone to pet her until they earn her respect. Aside from her stern manner, you may often see McGonagall chasing around a ball and other cats (she is gifted at Quidditch after all). She would love it if her new home had a companion or two who share her passion for the game.

Reeno is here and ready to dazzle with his all around adorable and charming personality. He knows “sit” and is eager to learn more neat tricks. This loyal and polite guy is looking for a home with all the best toys, snuggles, and treats (who could say no to that face!). He wouldn’t mind being the only dog in the home but would also love it if there was another dog to play with. Come meet Reeno (aka your new best friend) today!

Aris is his name; lounging is his game. This big goofball can (and will) lounge just about anywhere he sees fit. Some of his favorite lounge spots include counters, keyboards, or anywhere that puts him in front of his human so he can collect all the best pets. When he’s not lounging, Aris enjoys breaking into snacks with his cohorts and causing mischief. While he loves all things pets and snuggles from those he trusts, he is quick to avoid those not in his circle and will need patient human(s). Aris would love a home with a furry companion/napping buddy.

Meet our Veritas, an adorable young dog with plenty of energy and an adventurous spirit! Veritas is curious, funny, and playful, but she's also a bit shy and spunky, so she might need some extra time to warm up to you. With her sweet and playful personality, Veritas is sure to bring plenty of joy and laughter to your life once she opens up to you. Although Veritas is a young dog, she has a lot of love to give, and she's looking for a patient owner who can give her the structure, manners, and socialization she needs. She would benefit from experienced owners who can give her the care and attention she requires. Veritas seems to do well with most other dogs. P.S. Veritas is very fond of treats, so having some on hand might help win her over! Veritas has been at the shelter for over 90 days so her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED!

Are you doing a fitness new years resolution?!

Me heckin neither!! I don’t care that the shelter staff says I am slightly overweight. I play with other dogs and nap just fine, I don’t know what their problem is. I walk well on a leash and make friends easily! Plus, I am more to cuddle! As much as I love all my friends, I am very sad at the shelter and would love to celebrate the New Year in my forever home!

Help this adorable girl get adopted!

Sage is the sweetest girl who warmed up to our staff right away! However, the shelter can be a very scary place, and whenever someone new comes to meet her, she gets very nervous and scared! She has such a sweet soul and is waiting for someone to give her the patience and love that she deserves! Sage is around 1.5 years old. She is a big lover who adores cuddles. In her previous home she lived with two other dogs, and did well. When tested here she did well with male dogs, but wasn't a fan of other females. She has lived with kids age 4+.
