In North America a black cat crossing your path is considered a bad omen. Those poor dark felines get the short end of the stick. But in Ireland black cats are actually considered good luck. The legend says the Lucky Black Bog Cat is a mysterious creature who is said to have prowled around the shores of Lough Neagh. Cunning, swift, and particularly large in size, this bog Cat is rumored to bring great wealth and happiness to those lucky enough to run into it.

Mollie started at Tidewater a little over 3 years ago as a veterinary assistant. After graduating high school, she completed her associate degree and now is finishing up her Bachelor’s of Business Administration online through University of Mount Olive. She enjoys assisting with surgeries and really enjoys seeing patients make full recoveries. In her free time she enjoys the outdoors with her dogs and horses. As well as spending quality time with her family and fiancé.

Nicole is a Virginia Beach native who moved to the area in 2021. She graduated from Regent University in 2019 with a bachelors in Healthcare Management. Nicole joined the practice in January 2022. She enjoys making connections with client’s and their pets; and helping facilitate any needs they might have. In her free time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, son and fur babies.

The Irish Wolfhound is an ancient breed traced all the way back to the first century A.D. when the Irish Celts were breeding large hounds to hunt wolves and to be used as war dogs to drag enemy soldiers off their horses. The calm, dignified, and kindly Irish Wolfhound is the tallest of all AKC breeds. Once fearless in hunting and war, today they are the most serene and agreeable of companions.

One of the rarest dog breeds today originates in Ireland. The Irish Glen of Imaal Terrier traces its roots all the way back to the famous Queen Elizabeth I, from the 1500s. 👑Queen Elizabeth I hired soldiers to put down a rebellion in Ireland. After the conflict, many of these soldiers settled in the area, bringing with them their low-slung hounds. The brave but docile Glen is a strong, no-fuss dog built for hard work.

After careful consideration I have made the decision to be closed on Saturdays, effective March 2, 2024.
I deeply appreciate the trust you place in us to assist in care for your animals and we strive to be as available as possible for service. The reduced office hours will allow us to be better organized and prepared for the service you seek. I do continue to offer emergency coverage for dire illnesses or injuries that can't wait until Monday, unless I am out of town. At times that I may be out of town, or otherwise unavailable, small animal emergencies should be taken to one of the below clinics.
