Rocking Paw Dog Training and Kennels Rocking Paw Dog Training and Kennels is a new business to serve the Lubbock and hub city area in all their dog training needs and boarding.

Rocking Paw Dog Training and Kennels opened its doors in December of 2015. Built on our 10 acres of private property includes 10 private kennel suites and a training center. We have a fenced in 1 1/2 acre field for the dogs to have off leash time and also used for agility and training. Our training services include household obedience in 5 levels, therapy dog training , board and train, agility cl

asses, scent work classes and freestyle dance. Boarding services are available as well. Jolynn Payne is the owner and trainer and is certified through the CCPDT. She has a background in training dogs back to 1992, and has been professionally training since 2011. our method of training is LIMA, least intrusive minimally aversive. We want to train your dog to do what you want, not punish them fir what you dont want!

Classes for the month of puppy love! February!

Beginner scentwork begins Wednesday February 12th at 8pm. This is a sport for all dogs and owners of any age or size. Its a great activity for active dogs that need an off switch, shy or cautious dogs that need some confidence, for the everyday pet owner and for those that are competitive. We will train on AKC odor (Birch, anise, clove and cypress) to search all the elements (container, buried, interior, exterior) and to also find your odor! All supplies included! $175 for 8 weeks of lessons.

Puppy classes. This is for puppies 10 weeks to under 7 mo. 8 weeks of lessons and 2 weeks of virtual videos to prep you for class. $160. We will work on fun games like focus, impulse control, and enrichment. We will help you train your puppy to sit, down, stay, 2 recalls, sit for greeting, leash walking, mat and more!
Classes begin Wednesday February 19th at 7pm or Monday the 24th at 8 pm.

I have 2 classes beginning this week that have room for a few more students!
2nd level intermediate. 7 weeks of lessons $130. Wednesdays at 6pm. You must have gone through puppy or basic to join this class. Your dog will learn, heel position, heel, stand, back up, off leash recall, more leash work, meet and greet, wait, and 3 different stays with distance duration and distraction.
3rd level CGC prep. 6 weeks and the CGC exam. Cost $130. We will be training for them to pass the Canine Good citizen test. Tuesday evenings at 7pm beginning this week.
Dogs must be tolerant of other dogs for group classes.

You may have them fetch anything that you play with, bumper, ball, disc, stuffy....
The fetch must include you throwing the object, the dog retrieving it and bringing it back and a drop at or around your feet (or a return to your hand)

We have room for a few more students in our 2nd level intermediate class beginning next Tuesday at 7pm Your pup/dog needs to have taken either puppy or basic class with us. They will be learning: heel position, heeling, stand, meet and greeting another team (getting ready for CGC), off leash recall in the field, back up, and stays with distance duration and distraction. This is a 7 week course for $130 You will have Thanksgiving week off along with 2 weeks at Christmas then finishing up in January! Message us to jump in this class!

How do ypu watch your fellow trainer compete in dock diving on ESPN 2? With a group of friends of course

Rocking Paw has several scentwork classes. This is the advanced class (the class that you move into following beginner) We go to different locations and imitate trial settings. Tonight we were at the new Gebo's off of Slide and Woodrow Rd. What a nice store and management for allowing us to play! Teams range from novice to master! It's always a good day when you get to play with your dog! Message us if you are interested in our SW classes!
