Rocking Paw Dog Training and Kennels is a new business to serve the Lubbock and hub city area in all their dog training needs and boarding.

Rocking Paw Dog Training and Kennels opened its doors in December of 2015. Built on our 10 acres of private property includes 10 private kennel suites and a training center. We have a fenced in 1 1/2 acre field for the dogs to have off leash time and also used for agility and training. Our training services include household obedience in 5 levels, therapy dog training , board and train, agility cl

asses, scent work classes and freestyle dance. Boarding services are available as well. Jolynn Payne is the owner and trainer and is certified through the CCPDT. She has a background in training dogs back to 1992, and has been professionally training since 2011. our method of training is LIMA, least intrusive minimally aversive. We want to train your dog to do what you want, not punish them fir what you dont want!

Do you want to get that dog or puppy some training before the company comes for Christmas?
We have some board and train openings for December 2nd thru December 15th.
Let us keep your dog for 14 days in one of theme decorated 9x9 kennel suites! They will come out to train up to 5 times per day. You will get videos of their progress every other day and you will come and work with them on day 7 and day 14.
We will train a solid foundation under them in the 14 days (which equals to 8 weeks of puppy/basic class and half of intermediate class in those 14 days)
They will learn to focus on you, 2 recalls (a verbal and a emergency recall), sit and down, stay with distance duration and distraction, leash walking, impulse control activities, off leash recalls in the field and more!
There are only a few spots so message or call us to get on the calendar!

We have 2 more spots open in our basic class that begins November 22nd Friday at 8pm.
Ages 7 mo and above.
You will have classes on the 22nd, 6th, 13th and 20th, then have 2 weeks off for Christmas break (27th and 3rd) returning to finish class in January.
Your dog will come to in person classes to learn to focus on you, enrichment and impulse control games, sit, down, stays with duration and verbal distraction, 2 recalls, leash walking, mat, send to mat, sit with greeting, and more!
Prior to coming to class your class will have their own FB private group with some virtual lessons to get you ready for class.
Cost is $160 for 8 weeks of in person lessons!

They will be learning: heel position, heeling, stand, meet and greeting another team (getting ready for CGC), off leash recall in the field, back up, and stays with distance duration and distraction.
This is a 7 week course for $130
You will have Thanksgiving week off along with 2 weeks at Christmas then finishing up in January!

We have a few board and trains to get your puppies/dogs ready for the holidays!
14 days (November 4th-17th) in one of our theme decorated kennel suites. Our rooms are fully enclosed with a/c and heat with doggy door and private patio.
Your dog works with our trainer Zack up to 5 times per day.
We will build a foundation for you to build on or they can start in our 2nd level classes when finished to continue their education.
Week 1
Focus (teaching them to make eye contact) Mat (teaching them a place to train and settle) 2 recalls (both a verbal and a emergency recall) stay with (duration and verbal distraction) Lie down
Week 2
Impulse control games (teaching them to be patient until released), Stay with distance duration and distraction, Off leash recalls (in our fenced field), walking politely on a leash, waiting at doorways.
We also help with problem issues like jumping, door dashing, and counter surfing along with other requests.

Rocking Paw has several scentwork classes. This is the advanced class (the class that you move into following beginner) We go to different locations and imitate trial settings. Tonight we were at the new Gebo's off of Slide and Woodrow Rd. What a nice store and management for allowing us to play! Teams range from novice to master! It's always a good day when you get to play with your dog! Message us if you are interested in our SW classes!
