With opening day of rifle season coming up soon, we wanted to share a picture of a recent mount we completed. Feel free to reach out to us about getting your deer mounted this coming season. Another thing we will be offering this year is CWD testing. We will be working as a cooperator with NC Wildlife to assist with collecting samples for CWD testing. CWD testing is free for anyone needing/wanting a deer tested. Give us a call for any questions regarding taxidermy or CWD testing.

With deer season kicking off here in NC, we hope everyone hitting the woods has a safe and successful opening day! Just a reminder that we will be taking in a limited number of deer this year. Also there have been many questions regarding the changes related to CWD this season. We are here to help answer any questions we can, and also assist in getting your deer to us. As the 2022-2023 season comes to an end, all we can say is THANK YOU! We have truly been blessed with some of the best customers anyone could imagine. With that being said we are working hard to get everyone’s projects taken care of, so y’all keep an eye out as we begin to post the projects that are in the works and others that we’re finishing up.

We are FULL!!
Well kinda….

With that being said, we are not currently accepting anymore large game but we have room for a very limited number of small game. However, we are STILL ACCEPTING both upland birds and waterfowl. This is a post I had not anticipated making our first year in business, however we have been truly blessed with some awesome customers so far this year. I would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause but for the sake of maintaining a reasonable turnaround time this is a step we feel must be taken. We hope to be accepting more large game again starting in March. If you can not hold onto your work until we are accepting large game, feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to recommend you to Michael Shelton at Nevermore Taxidermy. Once again, thank you all for making our first full season a huge success. We truly appreciate each and every person who have made this possible!

Opening Day 2022
Our favorite time of year is finally back! Despite the warm weather and mosquitoes, we’re definitely glad to be back doing what we love and seeing others have success as well. We look forward to seeing what this season brings and can’t wait to have birds coming into the shop. Keep us in mind for your taxidermy needs!

With deer season now in full swing here in NC, we felt the need to share this diagram. We’ve had a few people contact us about the proper/preferred way to cape a deer out for the taxidermist. If you have any questions or need some assistance we’re more than happy to help answer questions or meet you at our shop to cape the deer for you when available. Give us a call!

Ducks Unlimited began their scholarship program in 2018, and have continued to provide high school seniors with scholarship opportunities every year since then. Deer season is officially in full swing here in NC, and we couldn’t be more excited. We look forward to seeing what our customers bring into the shop over the next few months. We’re currently offering skull and shoulder mounts, as well as a variety of other services. We’ve traded in feathers and have been working with fur over the past few weeks. Huge thanks to Custom Creations for knocking these hats out of the park for us! We hope to have hats and other apparel available soon. We’re trying to decide on colors for the hats, feel free to share what you would like to see!

This is the same euro mount that was shown in our last post, just using a new camera system. We’ve started working with this system in our shop in hopes of giving our customers a better look at what they can expect from us when they bring in their trophies. It’s been a while since we last posted, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been working!

Check out this euro mount we recently completed! This mount is on one of our convertible barnwood bases that we make in house. This base can be used as tabletop/desk mount as pictured here, or with the simple flip of a board can be used to hang on the wall as well.

Very well said. Get outdoors and take someone hunting!

Time is always a tight commodity. Taking care of kiddos, a business to try to stay on top of, and just plain adulting always requires something but we have to make the time to get new hunters in to the outdoors.

With declining turkey and most likely waterfowl numbers across the country, it's even more apparent how important conservation is to us maintaining sporting populations of the animals we love.

Plainly put, sportsmen and women are our greatest force to generate the revenue it requires to sustain, build and conserve the habitat it requires to keep these species thriving.

In today's world there are a million other fun things for kids to do that don't require the amount of work it takes to get up at 4 AM, haul gear, practice patience and if you're lucky, process your game after the kill.

If we as today's outdoorsmen don't MAKE the time to take the next generation of hunters and anglers afield, we're going to see a nosedive in participation and a proportionate decline in dollars needed to conserve.

Take and make the time to get involved with organizations that conserve and focus on introducing new people to the lifestyle we love so much!
