🍂 Fall is here, and so are its potential hazards for pets. If you think your pet has been poisoned by any of these, contact your veterinarian or a pet poison hotline right away. 🍂

Mouse and Rat Poisons 🐀
Always place these poisonous baits in areas where your pet can’t reach them. Seek care right away if your pet ingests rodenticides. Active ingredients in these types of rodenticides are: long-acting anticoagulants (LAACs), cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3), bromethalin, and phosphides.

Mushrooms 🍄
If your pet ingests a mushroom, place the remnants in a paper bag (if you can) and take them with you to the veterinarian.

Compost Piles or Bins ♻️
Fence off piles or bins. Decomposing and decaying organic matter and food products can contain toxins that can make your pet ill.

Kimmie’s immense talent shines not only here at the clinic, but also through her beautiful work with Roseburg Pet Crematorium, where she creates heartfelt memorabilia for families who have lost their beloved fur babies. 🐾💜

When she isn’t creating something meaningful and one-of-a-kind, you can usually find Kimmie cozied up with a good book, surrounded by her herd of cats and dogs. 📚🐱🐶

We are so grateful for her creativity, compassion, and the joy she brings into our lives every single day. 💕

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month. Pain management is a high priority for veterinarians caring for their canine patients. Your veterinarian can diagnose the cause of your dog’s pain and help treat it.

The signs of pain may not be obvious. Many dogs hide signs of pain when interacting with people. Watch for changes in your dog's activity level and behavior as these are the best indicators that it may be experiencing pain.

How Veterinarians Alleviate Pain in Dogs
* Treat the illness or injury that is causing pain
* Prescribe appropriate pain medications
* Recommend weight management and/or a special diet
* Suggest changes for the home environment
* Physical therapy
* Acupuncture
* Laser therapy

Today we’re celebrating our amazing Danielle (pictured here with her possible foster fail, Otis 💕). She has been in veterinary medicine for 9 years and is truly a wealth of knowledge for our team.

Danielle also seems to be a magnet for lost animals—if there’s a stray in town, odds are it will find its way to her every other month! 🐶🐱

This year she’s spending her birthday in Vegas, and we hope she’s having a blast and winning big on her special day! 🍀🎰

It's Responsible Dog Ownership Month. Owning a dog is a responsibility every day, and should not be entered into lightly. Regular (and emergency) veterinary care, exercise, nutrition and training are important parts of responsible dog ownership.
