Routine physical exams are great for checking your pet’s heart, lungs, eyes, and ears, but what about their internal health?

Annual blood panels help us assess internal health including liver and kidney function, metabolic disease, and blood counts. Diagnostic tests provide valuable insight into changes in their health over time and allow us to identify illnesses early which can lead to faster treatment and often a better prognosis

With the holiday season in full effect, we know that there may be treats on your pet’s wish list. We also know that you are likely tired of the toothbrushing battle. Which is why we recommend dental treats!
Dental treats are a great way to reduce the severity of periodontal disease.

We urge our pet parents to look for the VOHC Seal of Acceptance and to avoid hard treats such as synthetic or natural bones.

It’s giving season at Lake Street and Santa paws is coming to town! This year all of us at LSAH wanted to support a local business in Roselle. We decided that, The Cat House - Cat Lounge & Boutique will be our Christmas miracle! We will be giving donations and want YOUR help!

Earlier this summer The Cat House Cat Café opened partnering with Heartland Animal Shelter to find homes for cats in need. Heartland Animal Shelter also had a flooding accident around June of this year that set them back a bit. As much as we would LOVE to help our Heartland folks as well, our focus is just on The Cat House currently, if you would like to donate to Heartland, check them out!

They are in need of all life stages cat food (kitten/adult) wet or dry, as well as any NEW cat toys, scratchers and beds.

If you would like to join us in donating, you can drop off during business hours Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat 8am-1:30pm. WE WILL BE TAKING DONATIONS UNTIL DECEMBER 30TH!

🦠Leptospirosis is an infection of Lepto bacteria. Found in the urine of infected mice, rats, racoons, skunks and possums, this bacteria gets excreted into the environment.

Dogs are most often infected by drinking from a contaminated water source. The bacteria then targets the liver and kidneys, leading to serious illness and sometimes death.

You can prevent infection with an annual lepto vaccine and booster, good for dogs over 12 weeks old.
