The Fort Bend County Animal Services Shelter has a number of dog, cats, puppies and kittens that need a good home. The majority of these animals have been abandoned by the owners on the side of the road, in fields or even a ditch.

Meet Matilda. Matilda (currently going by the name of Mocha in her current foster home), was found as a stray, but it was very clear she had been owned before. She had a microchip under the name Matilda, but unfortunately her owners never reclaimed her. Matilda, aka Mocha, is currently loving life in her short term foster home, but she is still looking for a forever family of her own. Here is what her foster mom has to say about her:

(Matilda) is a super sweet girl and playful girl. She is amazing with dogs, and gets along great with her foster siblings. She becomes best friends with every dog she meets! She is kennel and house trained and she already knows the commands "sit" and "paw". She is such a sweet girl and would be the perfect addition to any home.

Leo is a high-energy, fun-loving German Shepherd who is ready to bring a whole lot of joy and excitement into your home!

At just two years old, he's bursting with youthful enthusiasm and a love for toys that knows no bounds. Whether it’s a ball, a squeaky toy, or even a tug rope, Leo is always up for a game and never wants to stop! He'll happily entertain you (and himself) for hours with his playful antics and infectious energy.

Whole Leo loves to play, he’s still learning some basic manners. He's a work-in-progress when it comes to being a calm, well-mannered companion, but with consistency and patience, he’ll thrive. With the right guidance, Leo will be a great addition to an active household that’s willing to help him continue to grow and learn.

Leo would do best in a home where he can get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, like long walks, playtime in the yard, and maybe even some dog sports or agility training!

💙 Moe - A047781 💙

Moe is a gently MOEtivating force. He’s so easy to handle on a leash that he makes taking a walk a dream. It’s so simple, yet so much fun! Welcoming Moe into your family could help encourage you to take more strolls through the neighborhood.

Moe is such a peaceful presence. He’s typically calm and gentle, and seems to have a lower energy level. While he’s not very playful, he is very sweet! He’s full of love and happy to spread it. He loves to be pet and will give you kisses as thanks. Alternatively, when left to his own devices, he’s happy to amuse himself. He’s the perfect balance of friendly without being needy.

Moe is a 2YO Lab mix who has been looking for a home since 10/11/24.

These two goofy goobers are named Gustavo and Dexter (A048023 - A048024. They're 5MO Blue Lacy mixes, and they came into the shelter alongside their sisters Scooter A048022 and Tooter A048025 on 10/31/24.

These boys are PAWsitively adorable! Both are sweet and friendly, and love attention. They're in that endearingly awkward puppy stage where they're very curious and still trying to figure everything out.

Stop by and meet them anytime we're open!

💖 Nipsey - A046409 💖

Nipsey is sensitive, and in tune with her surroundings. Though she’s an anxious girl, it’s simply a sign of how deeply she feels things. It also means she’s always alert and attentive!

With patience and understanding Nipsey has the potential to blossom into a wonderfully loyal and loving companion. She’s already come so far!

Today we’re proud to say she leashed up and went for a pleasant walk outside. She was nervous, but she did it and loved it! We’re so proud of her!

Nipsey is a 4YO Coonhound who has been in shelter since 6/12/24.

Carly is a 1Y Staffordshire who is currently enjoying the time in her short term foster home. Her foster mom has this to say about her, "Carly is house trained and able to be left in the house alone when I'm at work and she just sleeps. She is great in crate without door closed and will lay in there when she's tired. She has amazing recall, knows not to jump up on people, and she waits to go outside. Carly LOVES toys and will keep herself busy playing with them around the house, but once she sees it's time to relax, she will lay with her people cuddled up next to them on the couch. Clem was invited to sit with the cool kids (the kennel techs that work here at FBCAS) at lunch the other day. His friendly and gentlemanly nature quickly made him a staff favorite! He was even kind enough to help them polish off their plates. 💕
