Please join us in celebrating Oakland De Parmen Auriu our Romanian Princess’s birthday. Oakland was the one that started it all for Weatherby Goldens with us. Today she turns 13 and is enjoying her retirement. Still going as strong as ever and she enjoys being the ambassador greeting the families as they visit Weatherby Goldens. Today is National Dog day in which we show appreciation for our loyal four legged family members. Kay and I are blessed by our abundance of English Creams, but today I want to honor our black Lab Holly.

She came to us after being abandoned in front of our horse ranch back in 2008. It took me three days to coax her to trust me enough to come to the house. We estimated Holly to be less than a year old, but had had a rough life- her hips had been crushed and healed but the joints were bone on bone and she had a shotgun pellet in her hind quarters. In spite of this abuse, she enjoyed being around people and became an ambassador of the ranch towards all our boarders and never let her injuries slow her down.

Holly went to live with my oldest son Andy and his family for a while, but Andy could tell she yearned for the open pastures and freedom of the ranch, so she came home to stay.

I am sure Holly questioned the need for all the Golden Retrievers that started showing up at the house as we started growing Weatherby Goldens, but always tolerated even the youngest pups, with some occasional stern instructions when the pups got out of line.

Unfortunately, age caught up with this gentle dog and we had to say good bye last week. Her gentle demeanor and constantly wagging tail will sorely be missed.

My morning routine! Jackie and Bruce playing.

Truffles’ puppies are excited to see us each time we approach them. This is the period where their personalities are starting to show such as the photo of one guarding the feeding dish ( in the comments). They are four weeks old and we have a few males available on this litter. These precocious pups will be available to go home the first week of July.

They grow so fast. Truffles' litter is just shy of 3 weeks, their eyes are open, they are walking and barking, starting the important socialization stage of their development. We have availability of a few males on both Truffles and Angie's litter (Both litters were born on the same day). These energetic bundles of joy will be available to go home the first week in July. Please contact us if interested.

Jackie has returned to her old self playing with Buddy and Bonnie. They all are enjoying the mild afternoon. While I didn’t get a video of the horses, they too are frolicking in the pasture.

Jackie’s litter is 2 weeks old! Eyes are open and they’re learning to walk. One girl still available.

A little about Us

Here at Weatherby Goldens we breed and raise beautiful English Cream Golden Retrievers. Our dogs are an integral and very important aspect of our lives. We live on 40 acres that are beautifully wooded where our dogs can play and explore. They enjoy cooling off or just for the pleasure of a swim by dipping in the pond on a daily basis. We love to climb into our off road vehicle and take our dogs on a run down the winding trails through our property. Our dogs are very well exercised and look as forward to their daily adventure as we do.
